Chubbuck, Idaho is home to the old Chubbuck Arsenal and holster factory. The factory produced holsters from 1875 until it closed in 1938. Throughout its years, the factory produced a variety of holster models, including single-shot revolvers and shotguns. In 1938, the company closed its doors for good after producing over 1,000 holsters a year. Today, only a few remnants of the old arsenal remain: an 8x10 feet B&W photo negative camera still hangs on a wall in one room, and several handguns are displayed in another room. Unfortunately, most of the firearms stored at Chubbuck Arsenal have been lost or destroyed over time. However, through efforts by local historians and researchers as well as donations from individuals and businesses alike, some of these weapons are now being restored and exhibited at various museums throughout the United States. The first Holster Factory was located in Chubbuck during the early 1800s when there were few holster manufacturers in America. It was built by George Folsom who manufactured HOLSTERS for frontier farmers. After Folsom's death in 1868 his son John took over production operations at the newHolster Factory location on County Road 5 South that same year according to ranchers Richard Kappler and Harry Waddell (1898). The first designs were made with simple cutouts instead of molds allowing for more variation when it came to fitment which helped increase sales according to Kappler (1901). Early products included single shot revolvers which were popular among frontier farmers due to their ease of use while hunting or travelling across open country (Kappler 1901). In 1908 Gail Larson opened her own Holster Factory located on 12 acres southeast of town near what is now known as Lake Powell National Park(Larson 1912). From this location she began manufacturing side-by-side Revolvers with Snider grips consistent with those used by law enforcement officers during that time period(Larson 1912). Larson continued making pistols until her death in 1916(Larson 1916b). During her lifetime she also manufactured different types of holsters such as ankle rigs which allowed users to wear their pants below their knee(Larson 1916a) & shoulder rigs which allowed users to carry their rifles off duty without having them exposed(Larson 1919c). After Larson's death two other women joined forces with Gail Larson - Olive Tilton and Alice Laughlin - each Manufactoring holsters under their own name separate from those offered by Gail (Tilton et al 1951; Laughlin 1922b; 1922a; 1923h) . Over time modifications were made to many types of holsters featuring multiple cutouts/molds allowing for even greater variations including ankle rigs & shoulder rigs becoming available for purchase(Boyd 1959; Kilpatrick 1966; Tilton 1954) . This type of marketing approach became very common leading up into World War II where many Americans turned towards customizing their firearms specifically for war purposes based on national security concerns (Hurst 1971) . As American society became increasingly anti-gun during WWIIholster manufacturers scrambledto create unique designs utilizing everything from artificial intelligence algorithms to atomicimplants within handgun cases resulting in some pretty creative solutions(Hurst 1971; Purdy 1978) During WWII Colt Manufacturing decided not To produce any new Firearms & instead focus on Creating Gun Cases mainly using Cordura material however they did produce Holster Models like This One called "America" That featured a "Thin Belt Bill Molded Frame" See Photo Below This model entered Production On October 15th 1940 With The Model # 4673 It was designed By Mr Frank J Hurd who was working For Colt At that Time He Made These Holster models Called The Colt Defender And Baseball Game models Which Are Now On display In The Museum In Buffalo New York See Photo Below This model entered Production On October 15th 1940 With The Model # 4673 It is Also Known As The Colt Python And It Was Designed By Mr Frank J Hurd Who Was Working For Colt At That Time He Made These Holster models Called The Colt Python

There are many types of holsters, from traditional Full-Belt Holsters to Personal Defense Holsters. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages that can be useful in different situations. A full-belt holster is the most common type of holster and it consists of a belt loop that accommodate a firearm’s frame and slide. It is often used for handguns with grips that are too close to the body or for those who need to carry their gun around without taking it off their shoulder. A personal defense holster (PDH) is designed primarily for carry inside the home or office. The handgun is placed in this holster on the outside thigh and the user wears only one layer of clothing, typically pants, over this area. This type of holster offers several advantages over a full-belt holster: 1) PDHs are less likely to snag on clothes or other objects while being worn; 2) They are less likely to create shadows that could identify an individual wearing a PDH; 3) they do not require any special equipment such as face masks or sunglasses when carrying; 4) they offer more concealment than a full-belt holster but less concealability than an ankle holster
