Chubbuck is a small town in Idaho, located about an hour's drive from Boise. The population in 2002 was 5,711. The town was founded in 1907 by Danish immigrants who named it after the Chisos Mountains. The first gun shop in Chubbuck opened in 1911 and the first pistol sale took place that year. In 1912, the first rifle store opened and the first shotgun sale occurred that year. In 1916, a post office was established in Chubbuck and the first mail service to arrive in Chubbuck was sent from Boise via horseback rider on July 11th of that year. In 1922, a sawmill and gristmill were built and operated by locals until they were bought out by Pacific Telephone Company in 1951. In 1949, a grocery store was built and operated by Fidelity Foods Incorporated before it was sold to A&P Stores Incorporated of Omaha, Nebraska in 1965. In 1975-1976, Chubbowned Arapaho Valley Airport facilities were leased to local operator United Airlines for use as an air traffic control tower and maintenance hangar with hangars for five Piper Navajo planes used for storage during summertime operations of nearby airports such as Boise International Airport (BUK), Butte County Airport (CAB) and Salmon Arm Airport (ARM). These structures remain standing today - now part of Chubs gift shop! The last gun shop closed down around 1990s but parts continue to be produced here including some Taurus handguns which are exported worldwide

Chubbuck, Idaho is a small town in the Sawtooth Mountains of western Idaho. It is located about 17 miles west of the town of Nampa and about 28 miles south-southwest of the city of Boise. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. The area now comprising Chubbuck was first settled by American Indians in 1859. A post office called Chubbuck was established in 1871, and remained open until 1907. On December 20, 1907, a fire destroyed most of the town and killed all but three residents. The community rebuilt and reestablished itself as a small village with a school, grocery store, church, hotel and several residences. By 1920 it had increased to include 11 dwellings and had reached its current size.

Chubbuck is a town in Clark County, Idaho, United States. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. The land that would become Chubbuck was first settled by people in 1875. It wasn't until 1907 that the town's name was given to it by J.P. Hickey of Boise City, who named it for his friend and fellow rancher Ephraim Chubb (1849-1924). In 1909, a post office called "Chubb" was established in the town; however, no mail ever arrived there. In 1911, the name of the post office was changed to "Chubbuck." The railroad reached Chubbuck in 1912 and soon after saw heavy development with lumber mills being built along the way. By 1916, most of the buildings had been erected and Chubbucks incorporation as a village came into effect under ordinance No. 6789 dated October 16th of that year which stated: “The Village of Chubbuck shall be an organized township consisting only of its own residents subject to taxation by said Township Committee” As early as 1907, what would become known as Chubbuck had been established as a ranching community with five small homesteads scattered around some rural hills on what is now east side of Umatilla River Valley Road near present day North Peak Boulevard just north of I-84 exit 219A/State Route 606B where later White Sands Missile Range would be constructed
