Gun magazines have been around since the late 1800s. In Chubbuck, Idaho, there has been a history of gun mags being used to store and carry firearms. The first magazine in Chubbuck was started in 1892 by local men. It was called the Western Gun Club and it served as a place for people to buy firearms and discuss shooting issues. From there, the Western Gun Club evolved into the current Chubbuck Rifle & Pistol Club which still meets monthly today. The club also manufactures its own guns and ammunition. The first gun mag in Chubbuck, Idaho was the "Red Horse" magazine. It was started by George Halsey and published its first issue in 1907. The magazine continued to be published until 1951.

Chubbuck is a town in Idaho located on the Snake River. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise metropolitan area. The name comes from Chief Chubbuck's band of Indians who roamed the area before white settlement began. The town was founded in 1907 by Hyrum Sibley and his brother-in-law, W. A. Cline, as a stage stop on the trail between Boise and Salmon City. The first post office in Chubbuck opened in 1908 under the name of Mission Station #1. In 1912, Chubbuck became an incorporated town with a one-mile square plat of land bounded by Water Street to the north, Second Avenue to the east, and US 26 to the south. In 1916–17, Jens Jensen started a cattle drive from Heber City down the Snake River to irrigate agricultural land around Chubbuck which he called "Jensen's Canyon". By 1922 there were over 120 head of calves being driven each day from Jensen's ranch into irrigation fields around Chubbuck through what is now known as "The Canyon". In 1924–27, Harry Crosby developed White Sands Lake for use as an open water swimming pool during summertime; it remains one of Idaho's most popular tourist attractions today. Crosby also built several small towns along White Sands Lake: Eagle Nest (1925), North Bend (1926), Westville (1928), and finally Chubbuck (1929). This construction activity helped create more than 5 miles (8 km) of new roadway within Chubbuck limits between 1925 and 1929 alone! On October 11, 1930 local school board member Nellie Mae Willighan organized a parade that marched from First Avenue across Center Street to Third Street where she presented certificates to residents for their participation in making improvements to their schools since last year - including putting up new roofs on three local schools! For her efforts Mrs. Willighan was later honored with membership in both American Legion and Women’s Auxiliary International societies! Two years later on November 4th 1931 President Herbert Hoover delivered remarks about economic development opportunities offered by Hellgate Dam project at nearby Clearwater County Airport which included plans for a city park adjacent to damsite where citizens could picnic or swim; this proposal ultimately led to construction of nearby Meridian Dam which replaced Clearwater County Airport! Continued growth within Chubbuck followed as businesses moved closer together into various small shopping centers anchored by two general stores/grocery stores: IGA & Safeway (#2 & 3 First Ave.) opening respectively in 1951 & 1958 while Belknap Drugs store relocated from downtown 1964 until its closure 1995 facilities were absorbed into Safeway leaving only one street name remaining afterBelknap Drugs closed - Grant Ave./Safeway

In 1987 however, Handgun News took over as Gun News’ primary publication; it remains today one of the most popular firearm publications worldwide.

In the early 1800s, gun magazines were popular among soldiers and militias because they allowed troops to keep their firearms ready for use. Magazines also served as a storage place for ammunition and other munitions.

Chubbuck, Idaho was founded in 1876 by John J. Chubb and his wife Mary. The town was named for local Mountains of the Moon Ranch which had been given to them by their father. The Chubbks started a small grocery store in the town and built their first house in 1877. In 1881, they moved to a more permanent home and opened a second grocery store. They also operated a hotel until 1912 when they sold it and retired from business completely. In 1924, they donated land to build the Idaho State Capitol complex on what is now US Highway 26 across from the old Chubbkey Store. Today, the current incarnation of the Chubbbuck Museum is located in this building and features exhibits about local history as well as artifacts from the early years of Chubbucktown.

Chubbuck, Idaho was founded in 1907 by J.P. Chubbuck and his wife Sarah. The name is derived from the first two words of the town's slogan, "The Hub of the World." In 1911, Chubbuck became the first city in Idaho to be incorporated.
