Caldwell, Idaho is a small town located in the Sawtooth Mountains of southern Idaho. The population was 7,500 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Salmon P. Caldwell, an early settler and rancher. The first firearms were made in Caldwell by a man named John Fenton in 1881. A three-shot revolver was created by Fenton that could be fired with one hand. In 1889, Caldwell became the capital of United States due to its location on the new National Bank building which had been built on the former site of the local ammunition mill. In 1903, Caldwell hosted the world's first international gun show at the Fairgrounds. At that event, over 100 countries exhibited their firearms and artillery. Some of these guns formed part of display cases at various museums around the world today including London's Royal Arsenal Museum and Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History both located in Washington D.C., USA

Caldwell, Idaho is a small town located in the Sawtooth Mountains of western Idaho. Caldwell was founded in 1881 by two brothers, George and John Caldwell. The Caldwell family built a log cabin on the banks of the Little Snake River, which they named Caldwell Creek. In 1901, John Caldwell died and his brother George took over as sole proprietor of the business. The original store was destroyed by fire in 1907 but George rebuilt it and continued to run it until his death in 1960. In 1961, George's son Rex Wickenheiser became proprietor and he operated the business for many years until its sale to local businessman Jay Hargrave in 1995. The oldest building in town is the old courthouse which was built in 1881. It has been used as a schoolhouse various times over the years and currently serves as an event center. Other buildings include a church (1895), post office (1901), grocery store (1907), millinery shop (1911), blacksmith shop (1920), garage (1960) and house number 5 on Elm Street which was built around 1919. Caldwell is known for its cheese production which began in 1903 when milk from Butte County cream cows was sent downriver to be processed into cheese at a local mill. The first official cheese purchase came from Swiss Chalet early that year; since then, Caldwell has been home to some of America's best-known cheeses including Gouda, Cottage Cheese, Brie Cheese, Camembert Cheese and Roquefort Cheese! Today, much of what makes Caldwell so special comes from its farmers market where fresh produce is sold weekdays from 9am-1pm starting May through September with additional sales during winter months!

The modern American revolver is a descendant of the English single-shot pistol. The first revolvers were created in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, an officer in the French Royal Army. The first pistols used lead bullets instead of powder charges, and were called "pistols à plomb" (platinum pistols). In 1836, Samuel Colt developed a new system for manufacturing revolvers that replaced the use of lead bullets with copper nails. This system allowed for much more consistent ammunition capacity and prevented jams. In 1857, John Browning designed and manufactured the first self-loading rifle using this technique. Over time, other manufacturers have produced firearms using different methods of loading ammunition into the breech (e.g., magazine operation), but all these weapons share one common ancestor: the revolver.
Caldwell was founded in 1887 by George Caldwell and his family. The town grew rapidly due to the area's natural resources, including coal, copper, and oil. In 1912, the town annexed a neighboring small town, Storey County. The annexation created an even larger population in Caldwell and made it one of the most populous towns in Idaho. From its early days as a small agricultural community to its current status as a metropolitan area with a population of over 100,000 residents, Caldwell has undergone many changes over the years. Throughout its history, Caldwell has been home to many prominent people including George Washington Carver and Brigham Young University (BYU). Today, Caldwell is known for its attractions such as the Clifford Museum of Art which focus on western art from before World War I to today; outdoor recreation; and wine production.

In the 1870s, Caldwell experienced a period of growth due to its location on the Snake River. By the turn of the century, it had become one of Idaho's most important settlements.
