Boise City, Idaho is a city located in the Idaho Panhandle of the United States. As of the 2010 census, Boise had a population of 122,362. The first Europeans to visit what is now Boise City were American Fur traders in 1827. The city was founded on November 17, 1868 by Jesse Jameson and Wm. H. Beal as an offshoot of Meridian, Idaho. It was named for General George Armstrong Custer who died in 1876 during the Indian Wars while fighting at Little Bighorn River Valley near present-day Boise City. The area around today’s Fourth Street and State Street was originally used by Chief Joseph as his hunting ground for livestock and game animals during summertime before he moved them further downriver to higher ground sometime between 1800 and 1840 according to historian Rufus Kingall’s book “The Father Of Idaho: A History Of Our Land And People” In 1913, then-mayor Harry Gibbs merged Ada County into what is now Boise County in order to form one government for all residents within that county effective January 1st 1912 which also served as the groundwork for forming municipal governments throughout central Idaho following statehood in 1959 As cities began emerging throughout central America during this period (eastern Colorado being another example), Mayor Gibbs lobbied hard to have his city accepted into the rapidly growing local government model with some success until 1914 when he lost his bid to become mayor again due primarily to opposition from neighboring Mayors John Hoyle and Carlisle Gifford who both wanted their own cities built up within their respective counties In 1917 when World War I broke out Spokane native Aliss Ladd became one of three women elected officials – First Lady – serving concurrently with her husband Lloyd Ebbetts (authority over agricultural development) on Spokane City Council; also serving concurrently were four men – Allyn Raynor (police officer), Gus Griggs (penter/electrician), Jock Reynolds (social worker/nurse) Ladd would later serve two terms as mayor before she retired after her husband passed away in 1951 During World War II service members working at various factories located downtown including Kaiser Aluminum Works formed a Local Defense Committee which cooked food for troops stationed at Fort Lewis prior to its closure in 1945 During their stay they also constructed several buildings currently used by local businesses such as Regal Ballroom & Dance Hall which opened on July 16th 1945 next door to Majestic Theatre across Third Avenue from current day Atrium Place mall . This building housed many different types military oriented functions such as movie nights etc until live theater operations moved back inside Kaiser Aluminum Works proper late last year . Afterward it sat vacant until 2007 when it was purchased by Rivard Development Co., LLC who leased it back out for use as office space pending renovation . In recent years however more large retailers have taken up residence including Saks Fifth Avenue among others . With continued growth rates coming not just from Ada but surrounding counties like Bonneville since 2000 despite floods etc., we can expect even more development over time especially if approved plans submitted by developers include redevelopment or expansion onto adjacent properties currently occupied by churches

Boise City was founded in 1892 by Luther Payne and other businessmen. The city grew rapidly, becoming a major cultural center in the late 19th century. However, during World War I the city was bombed, and reconstruction began immediately. The population increased rapidly after the war, and by 1920 Boise City had reached its peak. However, immigration to the area began to decline in the 1930s, and during the 1940s the city experienced a large decrease in population due to wartime destruction of homes and businesses. In 1950 Boise City officially became an incorporated town.
