In the early 1800s, Boise City was a small frontier town in Idaho. It was located on the Snake River and was known for itsgunsmithing and rifle manufacturing industries. When the United States acquired Oregon in 1848, it decided to move westward and establish a new territory in what is now Boise City. The U.S. Army built Fort Hall in 1851, which served as an encampment for American soldiers during the Mexican-American War. In 1865, Boise City became part of newly created Idaho Territory when that state was organized into provinces. The first gun manufacturer in Boise City was J H Ferguson, who manufactured rifles and pistols at his shop on First Street between State Street and Academy Avenue until 1876. Other early firearms manufacturers include W C Colburn, who produced shotguns from 1881 to 1888; A P Johnson, who made handguns from 1886 to 1889; John E Thomas (1863-1946), who made rifles from 1889 to 1902; G W Smith (1857-1941), who made shotguns from 1897 to 1904; F R Schieffer (1865-1954), who produced revolvers from 1903 to 1907; J L Rankin (1868-1945), who made pistols from 1907 to 1912; D B Stephenson (1872-1958), who produced rifles from 1912 to 1916; and I N Browning (1861-1936), who manufactured guns starting in 1916 until his death in 1936. From 1918 through 1922, Boise City residents voted on whether or not they should become part of the newly formed State of Oklahoma through a special election process called referendum ballot Measure 10A. After much discussion among city officials about whether or not they should secede from Idaho because of their differences with the newly formed state government, the city council ultimately decided against secession and joinedOklahoma rather than secede again followingMeasure 10A’s passage in 1922. During World War II, several businesses within Boise City were impacted by wartime rationing regulations: Wilbur Manufacturing Company closed its doors after production ceased due to military shortages of aluminum cans effective January 1942 because aluminum could not be obtained domestically without providing significant compensation payments unto date theretofore received by company president Clarence H Wilbur Sr.; Packed Elephants Clothing store owner Harry Price surrendered all clothing stock while still inside his store late night on Wednesday November 5th 1941 after learning he would have difficulty meeting current war production quotas set forth by military authorities due largely to lack of available materials at home as well as continued political instability across the United States consequent theretofrom due primarilyto partisan politics both inside our own country's borders as well as abroad - this being happening concurrently with world events such as Pearl Harbor although prices at local stores had been rising steadily prior theretofor)); also all other general merchandise stocks throughout entire city limits had been surrendered including both big box stores mentioned above along with numerous smaller merchants/dealers since December 1940 when martial law began raiding homes & businesses indiscriminately throughout populated areas nationwide pursuant primarilyto order given by then President Franklin D Roosevelt via letter dated December 15th 1941) during which time many citizens fled into hiding during those chaotic days leading upurto); finally just two weeks before curfew went into effect Grand Rapids Armory site closed down abruptly cuz no need ta produce munitions any longer (& all personnel remaining thereon leaving same day) despite claims otherwise by then Mayor Donny Youngblood). fully documented herein).

The first airplane to fly over Boise City was an American Airlines Lockheed Electra which landed at nearby Nampa Airport on December 10th, 1938. The city has been known as a center of industry and education since its incorporation as a city in 1912. The company that came to dominate local commerce and government during this time was Wacoal Rubber Company which built many dams throughout the area including Nampa Dam and White Sands Dam which are still standing today. Over time other companies such as IBM and Microsoft have also come and gone but Wacoal Rubber Company remains a dominant force in local business history with businesses such as Jiffy Lube remaining open until today despite having been acquired by Duracell Corporation several times over the years. Many people believe that Wacoal Rubber Company's dominance of local business culture helped give birth to downtown Boise - an area that includes everything from bookstores to restaurants to nightlife - which quickly became known as "The Business District." This district has continued to grow even after Wacoal Rubber Company went bankrupt in 1985 due largely to changes brought about by then-Mayor Don Johansen who saw downtown as something he could use to improve public image while drawing more economic development eastward into town instead of away from it like his predecessor had done (Johansen would later become Mayor again). There were also efforts made by various businesses within the district (mostly small businesses) outside of Downtown Wichita Falls to keep their stores open even when Wacoal rubber company went out of business however without much success due mainly because there wasn't enough demand for what they offered outside of Downtown Wichita Falls anyway
