After hostilities ended, these Soldiers returned home and took up farming again; however, they maintained good relationships with their friends who had served overseas. They elected their own mayor in 1920-22 under then Constitution Revision Commission chairperson Mrs.. Jno Atherton Woods; this event led to increased business activity around town due to tourists coming for everything from cultural attractions to shopping possibilities While during World War II most citizens remained engaged within their local economy by farm production or other unrelated activities such as keeping chickens or pigeons for eggs; nevertheless several members of our family enlisted service when war mobilization began on September 2nd 1939 after being drafted into the National Guard immediately prior thereto No sooner had we put on our uniforms than orders came through not only did we have to pack all our belongings but also find places where we could sleep before being transported off grid Can you imagine being mobilizing right near your home? Although shipments stopped happening approximately 1945 when air travel became available again however since then numerous individuals throughout Fulton County have taken up storage space inside churches or other buildings without any regard for consequences apparent outside These days there are numerous organizations collecting donations specifically targeting local servicemen/women whose homes were confiscated during wartime As a result many individuals feel compelled both politically and environmentally TO collect items discarded during wartime era Unfortunately this problem will continue indefinitely without any solution
