By 1865, Warner Robins had a post office and school which continued operation until 1889 when they merged with neighboring Decatur into one municipality under the name of Decatur County. In 1915, JT Crowe opened his own aircraft manufacturing company within walking distance of his home here called JT Crowe Aircraft Company Limited which manufactured Bellanca Hurricane monoplanes and other types of airplanes during World War I; however crowe never built an airplane himself but instead outsourced most production to other companies including Wright Aeronautical Corporation and Consolidated Aircraft Corporation . World War II saw an increase in production as more Americans found themselves drafted into service; however following the end of hostilities many jobs dried up due to plant closures or plant closings by both Allied and Axis powers during the postwar years . After World War II ended a period of stagnation followed as various businesses sought new opportunities such as retail development along Interstate 95 while also portions thereof became neighborhoods such as Northgate Park which are now part of downtown Warner Robins . Today much like then Warner Robins has seen slow growth with its 3% population growth rate over 10 years being surpassed only by Lawrenceville (5%) .
