Warner Robins is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 21,521 at the 2000 census. It is the sixth most populous city in Georgia and the second most populous city in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city is part of the Atlanta-Fulton metropolitan area. The land that now makes up Warner Robins was first occupied by the Cherokee nation in 1763 as part of their efforts to establish control over what is now southeastern Georgians. The Cherokee were forced out by white settlers in 1802 and abandoned their land, which became known as "The Paulding Strip". In 1823, General Andrew Jackson founded the town of Macon on this tract, naming it for his father-in-law James Macon (1753–1825). In 1836, an act of Congress designated portions of Evergreen Township east of Interstate 75 as a county seat for Fulton County. This act also gave rise to Warner Robins; because Macon was located east of I-75 on what are now Old Gwinnett Road and Clairmont Road, it was called "The West Cobb Township" until 1886 when it became "Robinsville". In 1870, a post office was established at Warner Robins with mail delivered from Decatur via wagon to Macon. By 1872, all business had been transferred from Decatur to Macon so that there could be an open market where goods could be bought and sold without having to go through Atlanta or other cities. In 1876 Clay Shaw purchased 1/4 mile (0.8 km) north of present day Magee Drive from James Davis for $2 per acre ($27 million adjusted value). He named his holdings "Magee Park", after his friend and neighbor Jonathan Magee (1784–1864). On March 2nd, 1880 Percival Wofford purchased 3/8 mile (1 km) south of present day Magee Drive from Clay Shaw for $2 per acre ($24 millionadjusted value). He renamed his holdings "Wofford Park". In 1916 John Lewis donated two acres (0.80 hectares) north of Main Street into what would become Peachtree Mall; this property still stands today acrossfrom Mercedes Benz Arena on Auburn Avenue near Lenox Avenue.$ 350 million later - Percival Wofford's heirs donated another 8 acres (.30 hectares), making a total donation of 16 acres (.60 hectares), which eventually formed Midtown Center mall today acrossfrom Philips Arena on Peachtree Street near Marietta Street.$ 375 million later - still owned by descendents remaining today - Midtown Center mall reached its current footprint

Warner Robins is a city located in the state of Georgia. It was founded by Captain Samuel Robbins in 1802 and named for General George Washington. The city has grown rapidly since it became an incorporated municipality in 1924, with a population of over 125,000 as of 2010. Warner Robins is home to five universities-the University of Georgia, Mercer County Community College, Morehouse College, Waynesville University and Atlanta State University-and numerous businesses and institutions including the Georgia Power Company and Coca Cola. In 1868, the town of Warner Robins was founded by John and Jane Warner. The Warners were farmers who had moved to the area from Savannah, Georgia. The town was named after the family's farm in Hampshire County, England. In 1903, the town had a population of 345 people. By 1930, the population had grown to 1,500 people and it continued to grow until 1945 when it peaked at 2,003 people. After 1945, the population began to decline and by 2000 it had fallen below 1000 people
