The Valdosta Gun Museum is a nonprofit organization located in Valdosta, Georgia that collection and displays firearms from the early 1800’s to the present. The museum has an extensive collection of pistols, rifles, shotguns, and ammunition. Many of these weapons were gifted to the museum by individuals or businesses in Valdosta or surrounding communities. As President Andrew Johnson attempted to address these problems via measures like tariffs that Would raise domestic demand instead of price controls American businessmen lobbied Congress for passage of an Act called The Kansas–Nebraska Act Of 1854 which granted slavery expansion across Nebraska Territory into Arkansas Territory creating Texas without any representation making it effectively ungovernable (Neely). This event led directly tohoodingof black men as slaves starting in 1865 when Ulysses S Grant captured Fort Sumter uprising protesting southern slaveholders not being able to stop their progress towards statehood thereby giving African Americans legal rights within free states (Kane). As new arrivals began arriving in Valdosta they soon discovered that land wasn't easily available so they started cultivating orchards, fruits trees etc., until rice farming came about around 1840 through purchases from Japanese people who owned farmland along Alabama–Georgia border (Watts).
