The history of guns in Suwanee, Georgia can be traced back to the early 1800s. Many of the firearms that are still used in this town today were designed and built during that time. Some of the earliest handguns in Suwanee were made by a man named John Stephenson. He designed and manufactured what is now known as the Stephenson Rifle. This gun was used by militias and law enforcement officers throughout Georgia and was very successful. The popularity of this weapon led to Stephenson building more rifles and pistols over the years.
Suwanee, Georgia is a small town in the Chattahoochee River Valley. The town is located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Atlanta and 15 miles (24 km) west of Decatur. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,715. The town's name comes from the Suwanee River which flows through it. The first Europeans to visit Suwanee were traders from Savannah, Georgia who went there in 1802 as part of their trading mission with John Quincy Adams. In 1807, General James Wilkinson founded what would become known as Wilkinson College in Suwanee after he became president of Georgia State University. After Wilkinson's death in 1828, his college continued to be operated by his widow until it was sold to the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1846 and eventually dissolved into numerous private schools throughout Georgias history. In 1865, Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest visited Suwanee while on his way to cross the Chattahoochee River at Gadsden Bridge and offered US forces protection if they would allow him to use the bridge forstrategic purposes during his campaign against Union forces under Ulysses S Grant. The offer was accepted and Forrest successfully crossed over the river without incident on October 14th that year. During World War II many local businesses donated materials and equipment to help support America’s war effort including aircraft manufacturing plants such as Handley-Page Aviation Company’s facility atSuwannee Airport which produced B-29 Superfortresses for American air superiority over Japan; munitions production plants such as Browning Automatic Rifle Company’s ammunition plant at Swinton Point Naval Ammunition Depot; automotive supplies companies like Ford Motor Company’s Plant #1 at Decatur where V-8 gasoline engines were made for Army tanks; cotton gin facilities like Wirtz Manufacturing Company’s Cotton Ginnery #2 near downtown Suwannee; Provisional headquarters for First Amendment Defense Committee Headquarters near Decatur; “Axe Factory No 1” which manufactured axes for military use at a nearby damsite; and millinery stores like Fenton Millinery & Clothing Department store at Dunwoody Lake near Cullowhee Dam where women could purchase new clothing not available through other channels or markets before World War II

Suwanee was founded in 1837 by General James Macon as a town on the Chattahoochee River. The town quickly grew and became an important transportation hub for the area. In 1859, Suwanee had its first school and post office. By the early 1870s, Suwanee had become a major agricultural center with large cotton plantations. In 1875, Suwanee was renamed from Chattahoochee to Suwanee after the Tennessee River. The town experienced significant growth during World War I due to its location on strategic shipping lanes connecting Europe and Asia. However, the war led to economic decline and social unrest which contributed to the city's bankruptcy in 1920. In 1930,SuwanEE merged with neighboring Decatur to form a new city called Decatur-SuwanEE which continued To grow rapidly during the 1940s due to military installations and postwar boom times. However, during World War II there were mass deportations of Japanese citizens from Georgia which left many native Georgians unemployed and struggling economically; this led to numerous protests against Japanese influence in SuwanEE throughout 1946-1947 (the "Dissolution Campaign"). This campaign helped lead to increased independence for SuwonEE from Decatur following World War II. Despite these challenges, however, suwonEE continued rapid growth until it reached its current population size of over 50K in 2000 Since its founding in 1800s, Suwanee has been home to some of America’s most influential people including Governor James Macon (1837-1860), Congressman John Clements (1883-1900), Admiral David Dixon Porter (1915-1920), Drayton Snedden (1920-1941), Red Grange (1943-1989)and more recently Mayor Bob Buckhorn (2001-.present). During Reconstruction period when Georgia was torn between Unionists and Confederates following the Civil War, many prominent Georgians such as then Senator Orville Wright came from here - later leading Aeronautical Laboratory at Tuskegee Air Force Base & later becoming CEO of Honeywell International Between 1800 & 1850: Chattahoochee Valley Cotton Plantation Economy boomed because of Indian Removal Act Caucasian Settlers began arriving in what is now known as Georgia about 1795 AD when Captain James Cook arrived ashore on Ogeechee Island off today’s Savannah River while exploring South Carolina waters looking for natural resources
The city of Suwanee, Georgia was founded in 1831 by General James Wilkinson. The city grew and prospered as a cotton town until the mid-19th century when it began to decline due to the Panic of 1857. However, Suwanee regained its prosperity during Reconstruction and continued to grow through the 20th century. In the 1970s,Suwanee became an important center for electronic commerce and software development. Today, Suwanee is a small but thriving community with a rich history that is still relevant today.
