Sugar Hill is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,291 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Sugar Hill is named after sugar cane fields that used to be located there. The first knife users in Sugar Hill were farmers who would use knives to cut through the cattails and other plants they grew for their food. Over time, these people started to trade with others in the area and began manufacturing their own knives as well. By 1859, sugar plantations had been established in this region and so it became necessary for these farmers to find new ways to get money from their land by selling goods made from sugar cane or other crops instead of just raw materials like meat or vegetables. This led to the development of businesses that produced knives as a way of making money off of what was now an important industry in this region. In 1903, Alfred Pfanz opened his first store in Sugar Hill and soon afterwards began importing European-made blades into Georgia from Germany and Austria as well as producing his own line of knives called "Alfred's". From then on, it became standard practice for customers throughout Georgia to purchase knives from Alfred's whenever they needed one – even if they didn't live near the store! In 1925, Alfred's son Harry took over ownership of the business and continued expanding it until he sold it to John Wiltchek in 1963. John Wiltchek ran the store until 1977 when it was closed down due to low sales rates. After its closure, many local residents donated all of its inventory (including most of its firearms) back into public hands so that everyone could still access them today! SugarHill is a mostly white community with some minority residents. Sugar Hill has a rich history dating back to early 1800s when it was part of what was then known as Holston County. One of the first settlers in Sugar Hill was George Washington who lived there during his presidency from 1789-1793. The well-known General James Jackson also spent time there while he served as Governor of Georgia from 1807-1812. Other famous residents from Sugar Hill include Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., former UPN president Michael J. Dukakis, singer Berry Gordy and actor/director Sidney Poitier Sr.. After World War II, many African Americans moved to Sugar Hill due to its racially segregated society which had remained unchanged since Reconstruction days following the Civil War. Eventually, most of these African Americans left for other parts of Fulton County or died from disease brought over by the war itself such as malaria or yellow fever which were rampant at that time in America. In recent years however, some people have begunto return to their childhood home and share memories and stories about their ancestors who live within the walls of Sugar Hill today including Reverend Artie Ellison who leads a church located on Main Street which once catered exclusively to black customers; Reva Hendrickson runs her own restaurant on Elm Street called "The Harpy's Nest" which specializes mostly in traditional southern dishes like macaroni salad; Reva's father owned an ice cream store on Church Street before moving away for retirement in 1984; Leroy Boone still resides next door to his parents house on Pinson Road where he grows corn for his farm animals (now open to the public); Jeffery Mobley lives across Highway 492 north off State Route 84 which used to be his family's grocery store where he grew up playing football with his cousins and now teaches music lessons according'to grade school students; Asha Bowman also lives nearby - she works at Shephard Honda across SR 84 just east of town limits; three churches – First Baptist Church (founded 1836), Reformed Methodist Episcopal Church (founded 1865) and Pentecostal Bible Church (founded 1926) – are all located within walking distance of each other within downtown SugarHill; several businesses such as Gillett's Hardware & Furniture Store, Park Service Headquarters & Deptartment Store have been around since before independence day when this area was part of McIntosh County Today, SugarHill is predominately white with a few minority residents but it still retains its rustic charm complete with its own unique dialect that many natives find difficult to understand even though they reside here all their life There are several annual events that take place throughout the year in order celebrate different aspects or locales associated with early 1800s life such as Festivals Of Freedom (FoF) held annually on July 4th commemorates when American flag became effective as an legal document instead of British one during this time period while Historic markers like Pleasant View Cemetery remain active despite having no resident living inside them anymore due mainly because so few people are interested in visiting them these days All things considered though, it would be hard if not impossible for anyone living anywhere else outside metropolitan Atlanta or Savannah really know anything about what went on here between 1786-2010 especially given how little contact any resident actually has with locals anymore aside from occasional visits for events or holiday shopping purposes

In 1951, Sugar Hill was merged with neighboring unincorporated Lawrence County to form the City of Lawrenceville.

In 1894, a post office was established at Sugar Hill and remained in operation until 1951. during World War II, the town functioned as an airfield supplying planes with fuel and maintenance supplies for Project Paperclip which transported American soldiers to Nazi Germany. In 1951, the post office closed and sugarhill no longer exists as a community name or address
