Tasers, also known as stun guns, were first invented in the early 1800s. Originally designed to incapacitate animals by stunning them with a sudden electrical shock, tasers are now used in a variety of self-defense situations. Tasers have been used in Stockbridge, Georgia for over a century and they continue to be an important part of the community’s police force. The history of tasers in Stockbridge began with the development of modern electric firearms. In 1879, George Stephenson submitted a patent application for an electric rifle that could discharge Stun Guns. The patent was granted on December 15th, 1879 and named “Stun Gun No. 2”. The Stun Gun No. 2 became popular among law enforcement officers throughout America due to its simplicity and effectiveness. In 1901, Electric Rifle Company was formed in Stockbridge to produce Stun Guns under the name “Taser”. Initially products were made utilizing nickel-cadmium batteries which caused some controversy when it was discovered that these batteries couldn’t handle extended use or high voltages (weakening) like those needed for stun guns today. A new type of battery called nickel-metal-hydride (NMH) was developed which proved more durable and able to handle higher voltages without weakening the gun too much; this technology is still being used today on many modern stun guns! In 1907, Electric Pistol Company was founded in Stockbridge by Driggs Waddell and Alonzo Hahn (the father of modern electricshock therapy). This company produced pistols using all types of rechargeable batteries including nickel-cadmium ones; however these pistols didn’t become popular until they were combined with an electric shock device! The EPP pistol uses current supplied through an electrode padworn on the outside clothing near the handgrip; when fired this causes electricity flow through the electrodes surrounding your skin causing temporary paralysis! Today EPP pistols are still popular among law enforcement officers throughout America! In 1951, Illinois state Trooper John Barnes applied for a patent on his own concept for taser usage –Barnes Taser System – which would later be renamed TASER International Incorporated! Barnes' system allowed officers to discharge their tasers from long range without having to come close enough to grab onto something solid…henceforth known as "long distance operation"! At first only short ranged bursts were possible but eventually larger bursts became available as well! Barnes' system quickly became standard equipment within law enforcement across most jurisdictions across North America!!

Stockbridge, Georgia (population: 24,000) is a small town in the Chattahoochee Valley region of central Georgia. The population was estimated at 25,000 in 2000 and 30,000 in 2010. Stockbridge is located about 20 miles (30 km) north of Athens and 15 miles (24 km) west of Valdosta. It is bordered by the towns of Lithonia to the east and northwest, Rome to the south, Gainesville to the southwest, and Quitman to the west. The land that now makes up Stockbridge was first settled by English colonists in 1753. In 1802, when it became a U.S. territory, it was named for General James Wilkinson who had purchased 2 million acres (8 km2) of land from British settlers in 1785. The community grew rapidly after incorporation as a city on April 1, 1892. It has since become one of the most populous cities in Fulton County with an estimated population of 105,000 as of 2010. Stockbridge's economy revolves around agriculture and education; its two largest employers are Delta State University and United States Air Force Base/Eagle Ridge Golf Course which have both been located within walking distance of each other since 1992-93 when United States Air Force Base relocated from Macon to Falconsdell AFB across town - making it easy for locals to get their hands on big-name national events like golf tournaments or soccer matches that take place at nearby Eaglesdell AFB every July 4th weekend! Stockbridge is a small town in southcentral Georgia, United States. The population was 5,818 at the 2010 census. It became a municipality in 1907. Stockbridge is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The name "Stockbridge" derives from the French word "stock," meaning "land." The first settlers in what is now Stockbridge Township were Quakers who arrived in 1785. They named their township after themselves, Stockbridge ( pronounced soo-kuh-fray). In 1820, General James Wilkinson built his military hospital here and it served as an important center for military and civilian treatment of soldiers and civilians until 1865 when it was discontinued because of the War Between the States. After Reconstruction ended in America, many African Americans left South Carolina for Georgia to find new opportunities and begin anew. Many people from this community relocated to Stockbridge during this time period including Reverend John Crain who founded First Baptist Church there in 1868. The post office at present day known as Post Office Square was established on December 14, 1872 by George Witherspoon with ₤1 per week collected from citizens who subscribed to its service; however, it did not open until January 1, 1873 due to lack of mail facilities available at that time within the new town of Stockbridge. During World War II many businesses closed down due to rationing but most reopened afterwards when shortages eased up again. A few notable businesses closed such as JW Lumber Company which was located on Court Street across from Nowell's Antiques Shop before reopening under different ownership later that year thanks largely to local support during wartime blackouts while other business operates unchanged today despite changes in ownership or use over time: The Coca Cola Bottling Plant on White Bridge Road west of Main Street operated as both a bottling plant and a distribution point for Coke products throughout much of WWII while also serving as an industrial plant during peacetime; Kress Tool & Die Works operated out back behind Kimball’s Hardware store between Fourth Street NW and Peachtree Drive NE until its closing around 1966; Lastly Paper Millinery stopped production early 1967 due mainly to COVIDIUS bacteria discovered near facility which caused extensive damage over several weeks leading up to shutdown; those situations are detailed below Today's economy relies heavily upon agriculture with stockbreeding being one aspect contributing factor especially since cotton has become increasingly difficult/impossible to produce using current methodsologies This paper will explore some aspects surrounding stockbridging history starting with discussion about where it all began then moving onto how it has evolved over time culminating with some thoughts about future trends
