The first school was opened in 1839, and the first Baptist church was built in 1840. In 1857, a bridge over the Chattahoochee River was completed and named after General Wofford Stephenson. In 1865, a sawmill and gristmill were established in what is now Stockbridge. The first telephone line to be installed in the area was installed in 1870.
Stockbridge, Georgia is a small town in southeastern Georgia located about 25 miles east of Atlanta. The population was 7,463 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1853 by Southern Methodists who moved from what is now Chattanooga, Tennessee. It became an incorporated community in 1903. Stockbridge is home to the Stockbridge-Macon County Library and the Stockbridge First Baptist Church. The town was one of the first places in Georgia to be developed as a railroad town. The first railroad through the area arrived here in 1875 and it soon became an important transportation hub for the region. PPH holsters allow officers to carry pistols with extra magazines instead of just six rounds per clip like most regular holsters do. Stockbridge, Georgia is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia located on the southern border of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The population was 3,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Roswell-Macon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to set foot in what is now Stockbridge was Nicholas Christoffel who arrived in 1733. He and his family built a cabin near present-day Roswell on a bluff overlooking the Chattahoochee River. In 1814, General James Kountze sold 500 acres (2 km²) of land east of present-day Roswell to Daniel Boone for $1,000. This property became known as Fort Knox and served as headquarters for many Confederate troops during the Civil War. In 1811, John Armstrong founded Pickensville on a stream near modern-day Roswell after purchasing 640 acres (24 ha) of forested land from David Wilkinson. Armstrong's original home was an adobe ranch house that still stands today within walking distance of Interstate 85 west of town. In 1816, George Rogers Clark visited Stockbridge while exploring north Georgia and found it thriving with farmers and hunters living close to nature with easy access to water supplies and trails leading into Tennessee and Alabama. After meeting some residents he decided to move his family there permanently in 1817 and named his new community "Stockbridge" after nearby Fort Knox which he had explored earlier that year. It wasn't until 1830 that railroad construction reached Stockbridge when two soldiers from Company I led by Colonel Robert Eichenwald ordered engineer Elijah White to build tracks through adjacent woods parallel to US highway 20 just northeast of town limits so passengers could disembark at Gainesville for their journey southward onthe road towards Chattanooga or Athens/Athens Junction Railroad station where they would catch another train heading northwards back down south again before continuing onward finally reaching Mobile Bayou where they disembarked for shipment back home across those same waters – an event which has been inaccurately described as "the opening of the cotton trade between America and Europe." As more people moved into this growing community, school District No 1 opened its doors in 1840; only one public high school existed then; three years later it became District No 2 High School when Central High School was established east sideof town along with Friendship Academy which grades pre-kindergarten students together with no second grade separation until 1958 when district #2 closed due to budget cuts butFriendship Academy kept operations going as a PreK thru 12th grade academy underprivileged children’s charter school doing well enough according GA state standards..
