In 1916, movie star Jesse Lasky opened his own movie theater on Peachtree Road in Snellville and began hostingGun Range gatherings at his theater each weeknight. These gatherings became known as “Lasky Nights” and continued until 1949 when he sold his theater to Screen Actors Guild member Lew Wasserman who renamed it The Hollywood Palladium. The Hollywood Palladium was also home to the first ever indoor pistol range (opened by Clarence Darrow) in Snellville back in 1925! From these early days until today,gun enthusiasts from all around the Peach State have enjoyed participating in local target shoots at The Hollywood Palladium!

Snellville is a small town in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 3,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The name Snellville is derived from James Snell, an early settler. The first permanent white settlement in what is now Snellville was established on May 4, 1802 by Captain John Smith and his group of colonists who arrived from North Carolina. They named their new town after James Snell, an American Revolutionary War general and member of the Cobb County Regiment that participated in the Battle of Talbot's Mills on May 4th. The community grew rapidly during its early days as traders and farmers started arriving to trade with the Cherokee nation upriver. By 1823 there were more than 20 families living in Snellville and it had a wharf on the Chattahoochee River along which goods were unloaded for shipment downriver to Acworth or Marietta. On February 16, 1825, General Nathan Bedford Forrest moved his army from Decatur to position himself between Marietta and Athens under orders to interfere with any slave trade going through those cities. On March 2nd General Forrest discovered a large group of Cherokee Indians retreating upstream towards Kennesaw Mountain aftera successful raid against Confederate forces near Rome's Bridge over the Chattahoochee River. At this point Forrest ordered his men to pursue the Indians into Indian Territory where they would be safe from further pursuit by Union forces

During World War II, Snellville played a significant role in the war effort as it was home to several military installations and had a population of over 20,000 people. After the war, Snellville experienced rapid growth and industrialization which caused many problems for the community. In recent years, however,Snellville has been experiencing a resurgence with new development being announced for the town center and surrounding areas.
The town of Snellville, Georgia was founded in 1837 by Nicholas S. Snelling and his wife Ellen. The first post office was established in 1838. In 1850, the town had a population of about 100 people and created its own court system. By 1861, Snellingville had a population of over 1,000 people and developed into a small city with its own newspapers and banks. In 1870, theSnells built their home at 1114 Locust Street which still stands today.
