In 1851, they opened their own store on Chestnut Street. By 1870, the Snells had sixteen businesses inSnellville. The first glassmaking furnace was built in Snellville in 1876 by J.M. Griggs and Sons. By 1909, Snelling Glass Company employed 1,500 people making more than 100 different types of glassware including telescopes and binoculars.
Snellville is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 19,853 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of the Atlanta metropolitan area and is one of the most populous cities in that region. The first settler in what would become Snellville was James Robertson who arrived in 1802. In 1811, John Snell founded what would become Snellville on a tract of land he purchased from David Peachtree. The town was named after General James Snelle, who had fought against Creek Indians during the American Revolution and then served as an Inspector of Indian affairs for Georgia under Ulysses S. Grant. General Snelle's victory over the Creek Indians at Battle of Horseshoe Bend in 1794 endeared him to many people in southeastern Georgia and led to his nickname "The Swamp Fox". The town started as a small log cabin settlement with only 10 residents and five families living there by 1830. By 1840, it had grown to 250 residents including 50 farmers and 25 traders who grew crops and conducted commerce near the river mouth on which it sat. In 1850, neworf snellenberger founded a foundry here that continued production until 1865 when it closed due to lack of demand for cast iron products around this time period In 1881, local entrepreneur John Darnall established Darnall's grocery store - one of only two stores open within two miles (3 km) of downtown Atlanta at that time In 1902 snellinger & co., general merchants opened their second store next door; this store also became known as "The Brick Store" because its facade was made entirely out of bricks - becoming one of only two brick-fronted stores remaining in central Atlanta after 1893 . During World War II, Snellingerville saw some growth with construction taking place along I-85 which connected downtown Atlanta with rural areas further south This increase brought more jobs into town but also increased traffic problems since I-85 diverted traffic away from downtown while bypassing several small towns situated between I-285 and I-75 . As development continued down Interstate 85 towards Alpharetta , residential neighborhoods were built closer to major thoroughfares making way for commercial corridors . Today much remains unchanged from when Snellingville first emerged as a thriving community: its close proximity to downtownAtlanta; its diversity including both African American and Caucasian populations; its active cultural life; and its commitment to quality education through public schools

Snellville is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town began as a small community on the Chattahoochee River near its present-day limits. A post office was established in 1837 and by 1854, Snellville had grown to 10 residents. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Confederate General Jubal Early attacked Union forces at Snellville and many troops were killed or wounded there. Many of these soldiers were buried in unmarked graves until their remains were discovered in 2001 when construction began on a new park adjacent to the old cemetery. In 1896, Snellville became one of three cities within the newly formed Atlanta metropolitan area and officially incorporated as an independent city on November 3 that year with a population of 2,500 people. The city's first mayor was Solomon Biddle (1875-1911). Snellville experienced some growth during World War II due to its strategic location for manufacturing items such as ammunition and vehicles needed for military operations overseas. One important factor behind this growth wasSnellville's ownership by United Aircraft Corporation which manufactured Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter planes and other aircraft products here from 1941 until 1945. UAC also built several large housing developments called "Grumman Park" located in what is now Midtown Tower near Five Points mall after moving production from Marietta to Snellville during World War II; these developments are still extant today with mixed use zoning resulting in some high-end condos/residences while others are more traditional single family homes with attached garages serving as apartments/condos
The town of Snellville was founded by George Washington in 1786. The area that is now Snellville was first inhabited by the Cherokee and Creek peoples. In 1802, the U.S. government established a post in what is now Snellville to control the flow of refugees from Indian Territory overland. The post became known as Fort Worth and stayed in operation until 1865.
