The AR-15 is a bolt action rifle that was designed in the early 1970s by Eugene Stoner. It became popular among American soldiers and law enforcement officers, and has been exported to many countries. The design has been modified several times since its creation, most notably by Springfield Armory in the late 1990s. In 1968, Eugene Stoner developed the first semiautomatic AR-15 rifle, which he named the M1A1 (after President Lyndon B. Johnson). This rifle was a bullpup design with an interface between the magazine and barrel that allowed for quick reloading of multiple rounds without having to remove the entire weapon from service. The M1A1 saw limited use before it was replaced in 1971 by the M16 Infantry Rifle. The M16 rifles were designed as both an infantry support weapon and riot control tool; they featured heavy but easily portable stocks, a collapsible bipod for carrying or storing weapons while on patrol or during combats, and a grenade launcher port on each side of the gun for mounting grenades. These features made them well suited for deployments over long distances and at high speeds. The Vietnam War led to heavier firepower requirements for infantry units; however, these weapons were not available until after battlefield adoption of large magazines that could hold up to 100 rounds per soldier—a development that had occurred earlier with Thompson submachineguns. In 1973, Springfield Armory released their own version of the AR-15 called the XD(M). This rifle differed extensively from anything else available at this time: It featured an all-steel receiver instead of plastic, a 15” barrel instead of 10”, adjustable stock instead of just off-the-shelf items such as clamps or vice grips (the latter being provided by those who bought STD models), night vision optics (instead of existing red/green optics found on other rifles), modularity via 5 rounders rather than 6mm NATO rounds (this being done so shooters could mix different calibers into their firearms even when deployed in close quarters combat scenarios), fully ambidextrous controls including three forward/backward firing positions along with two manual grip positions (@4 o’clock on left side), sling swivels built into receivers (@6 o’clock position) and Picatinny rails mounted atop receivergive rise to confusion some may experience when trying to adapt their firearms “canonical” geometry within squadrons or formations using NATO standards while abroad because conventional vertical mount sights are used instead @3 o’clock offset on top rail

Downtown businesses have faced difficulty adapting to new zoning laws which linemen consider restrictive but also necessary for meeting overall growth goals set by Mayor Kasim Reed during his administration from 2009-2013 while he served as mayor pro tempore (a position without power). On October 25th 2017 City Councilman Jeff Gattis introduced legislation that would amend regulations governing business zoning within city boundaries effective January 1st 2018
