Roswell, Georgia was the site of a chemical warfare testing ground where American scientists used mustard gas and other poisonous agents on civilian populations in World War II. The Roswell Incident is also known as the Battle of Roswell. The area around Roswell became a hotbed for UFO sightings during the early years of this century. In 1947, John Keeler, an air traffic controller at George Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, noticed strange objects flying over his airspace.
