The town is home to two Air Force bases: Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Roswell National Airport is also located here; it serves as the primary airport for Roswell County and neighboring DeKalb County areas within Georgia as well as for other parts of North America via scheduled airlines such as Delta Airlines and American Airlines.[1] The townsite covers 2 square miles (5 km2). As of 2016[update], there were still no permanent housing developments or businesses looking to relocate to Rossellt because there are still many questions surrounding what really happened at the site during World War II that have yet to be resolved either from history or from government investigations into what could have happened there if aliens did actually visit Earth.] The town was founded by citizens of nearby Decatur who left their homes due to Indian Removal Act violence in 1837[2]. By 1880, most residents had already moved away due to economic reasons related to cotton plantations operating nearby[3]. A post office was established in 1881,[4] but it closed operations shortly after its opening due to low patronage.[5] A school was built in 1886,[6] but it closed within a few years because only white children were allowed enrollment[7]. There wasn't even any water available until 1893,[10][11] when someone obtained access from a creek bed using dynamite explosives used during Civil War construction projects nearby[12][13][14]. In 1907, two men named John Huggins and George Meeks purchased land adjacent to present-day Rossellt Village with intentions of founding a community there[] [15][16][17]: one source claims they got the land through bribery while another claims they offered $200 for it[] [18]: both sources agree that they started construction on their farmstead on November 3rd that year [] [19]: according To later research conducted by historians Drs Don Armstrong & Don Revell at Morehouse College., these men may not have been actually from Rossellt Village though they claim responsibility for its creation; however more evidence suggests otherwise [] [20]: Their farmstead became known as Old Huggins' Hill [] [21]: In 1912...the Meeks sisters set up shop next door serving coffee & doughnuts all day long starting out with just four cups per customer each before expanding into bake sales/halls etc.; this continued until 1963 when kitchenette facilities were added inside old service building which served both functions until 1978 when main building became headquarters for AFRosweLL
