However beginning around 1260′s towards closing centuries although there were some great minds such as Dante Alighieri, Petrarch etc., culture began to decline steeply especially after Frederick II Barbarossa conquered Italy defeating Pope Urban IV at Benevento Cathedral on April 9th 1274 proclaiming himself King Holy Roman Emperor; leading to more migration causes primarily because economic opportunities expanded greatly along newly acquired lands(chiefly Germany) resulting in increased competition among cities causing rapid population growth rates sometimes outstripping real estate availability leading generally to social unrest caused primarily through crime gangs operating beyond municipal boundaries mainly concentrated urban areas characterized today latterly more prevalently along coastal areas plaguedby high levels OF VIOLENCE particularly CHEAP REAL ESTATE prices often driving people away from centralcity communitiesemiologicallyknownasRome City States).
