When Riverdale was founded in 1864, it was a farming town of around 100 people. However, by the end of the century, the population had increased to 1,500 and by 1920, it had grown to 3,000. One of the early settlers in Riverdale was Johnnie Newton who established a grocery store on what is now US-19. The first gun store in Riverdale opened in 1898 and it continued to be run by Newton until his death in 1944. In that time, Riverdale also became home to one of the most famous gun shops in Georgia – GARMA Firearms. GARMA Firearms went from being a small shop with only four guns sales per month to becoming one of the largest firearms retailers in the area. In addition to their retail establishment, GARMA Firearms also operated several training schools which taught students how to buy and use firearms safely. One of the most important moments for gun grips history occurred when GARMA Firearms merged with Brownells Corporation on November 15th, 1957. At this point, both businesses were located on Park Avenue in Atlanta – two blocks away from each other! Shortly after merger (and as part of an effort to consolidate resources), GARMA Firearms changed its name to Brownells Corporation. Today Brownells Corporation remains one of Georgia’s leading firearms retailers and continues to operate several prominent firearm stores across Georgia including those located at locations such as MARTA Rail stations and shopping malls!

The Riverdale Rifle and Pistol Club was formed in 1892. It is the oldest rifle or pistol club in Georgia. The club meets at the Twilight Zone movie theater on Rosalie Road in Riverdale.

When tightened againstthe body by using it as leverage againstthe recoil spring assembly, this allowed more control overfirearm movement than any previous typeof handgun grip had possible without sacrificing comfort or user convenience

Riverdale is a town in south Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1827 by Colonel James River and his group of settlers as an agricultural community on the Chattahoochee River. The town grew rapidly after the completion of the Atlanta, Fulton, and Chattanooga Railway in 1830. By 1840, Riverdale had a population of 2,500 people. In 1851, the town became part of Macon County when it was organized. The county seat moved to Milledgeville in 1901. In 1923, the name of the district that included Riverdale was changed from "Macon" to "Riverdale". In 1865, General William Troup's Confederate army began its invasion of Georgia and found itself surrounded by Union forces at Forks over the Chattahoochee. To escape capture or be massacred, Troup's force retreated intoriver Valley and surrendered at Bridgeport on July 12th. Many Creek Indians also surrendered during this time including Chief Muskogee John Ross who was shot three times for refusing to surrender his medicine Chestnut Tree Stand overlooking Forks Landing Canal with 150 other men on July 6th 1862. The townspeople quickly rebuilt their homes and businesses following Troup's surrender and soon regained their former prosperity; however they would not forget what happened outside their gates during that fateful summer day in 1865. Over time some locals even claimed credit for leading/helpingGeneral Troup outsmarted Union forces while many others maintain that it was simply an unlucky coincidence that Forks Landing Canal lay just across the river from where he finally surrendered - something which still remains a mystery to this day! Many aspects about Riverdale's history remain relevant today such as its rich architectural legacy (many famous buildings were built here such as Macon County Courthouse), its close-knit community atmosphere, and its rich cultural influences which have been passed down through generations of residents.
