Richmond Hill, Georgia is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia. It is located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and has a population of about 1,500 people. The Richmond Hill School District serves residents of the town. The first inhabitants of Richmond Hill were Native Americans who lived there before European settlement began. In 1818, Colonel John Bullitt founded what is now known as Bullitt Hundred after he acquired land in this area from the Cherokee Nation. He named his new tract Richmond Hill in honor of his old home province of Virginia. In 1838, James Kenedy bought some land here and built a cabin that still stands today. Kenedy was an early settler and one of the most prominent men in this region. He served as sheriff and as a member of the Georgia General Assembly. In 1865, Confederate general Stonewall Jackson set up camp near here while preparations were being made for his planned invasion of Northern Alabama (later Mississippi). Only days later, Union forces attackedJackson's camps at Bridgeport Landing and Battle Creek Road outside Richmond Hill – resulting in four dead and twenty-four wounded soldiers from both sides combined! The aftermath led to increased tensions between Northerners and Southerners throughout the south during Reconstruction period followingthe Civil War. In 1871, when Richard Møller started construction on what is now called Moller House – one of Atlanta’s most famous landmarks – many people in Richmond Hill gathered around to watch him work/watch “Moller” do things such as driving nails with his bare hands! After years of anticipation (and more than $1 million worthof fundraising), “Moller House” finally opened its doors to visitors on October 15th, 1893! During Prohibition era (1921-1933), bars and speakeasies sprang up all over rural America due to prohibition laws which made it illegal to produce or sell alcohol without a license…. Many citizens in rural areas became involved in organized crime during this time because they could not get arrested or have their liquor confiscated… For many residents living through these times it was difficult enough just getting by; trying to survive also meant fighting against prohibition law every step of the way! Many residents decided to move away from their small town during this time because it was becoming increasingly difficult to make a living without drinking alcohol….. After repeal occurred in 1933–most folks returned home but some moved out into surrounding counties due to lost opportunities during Prohibition…….. Today, several businesses still operate within Richmond Hills limits including The Bookstore & Café (owned by former Mayor Bill King), Bluegrass Grill & BBQ (owned by current Mayor Jennifer Roberts), Home Depot (which operated two stores here until 2007), Golf Digest Stores Inc., Ford dealership etc….. There are also several restaurants serving limited portions inside military bases located nearby like Chilton Air Force Base(Chilton southeast side) & MacDill Air Force Base(Fulton east side)…… Some residents have even started working inside larger agencies like Gwinnett County government etc….. Although economic conditions have changed somewhat since then – with more recent suburban development upstream – much remains unchanged about traditional values held dear by so manyResidents hereabouts…….. Richmond Hill is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,678 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1855 by planters who bought land east of the Chattahoochee River from the Creek Nation. Richmond Hill became an agricultural center and developed into a small town with a mix of African American and white residents. In 1960, Richmond Hill was merged with nearby Dacula to form Dacula–Richmond Hill Township. The first settlers to Richmond Hill were men from Virginia who arrived in 1855 on horseback across the Chattahoochee River from what is now Chattanooga, Tennessee. They named their new settlement after General James Acheson, General Winfield Scott’s deputy during the Mexican-American War and secretary of war under President Franklin Pierce. At first they cultivated rice fields and raised chickens for eggs; later they began to produce tobacco and cotton. By 1860, most of the settlers had moved away due to growing danger from Creek Indians in revenge for cuts made by Scott in their treaty negotiations with Mexico City that year. In 1881, Richmond Hill's first school opened as an ungraded public school known as "Grace Academy." It was operated by Methodist Episcopalians until 1889 when it became racially segregated according to sex (African Americans attending schools run by white parents). In 1909 Grady Junior College opened its doors as a black college Preparatory School within city limits serving grades 9-12 without charge to students or families of color; this marked Richmond Hill's first steps towards integration into Atlanta society despite opposition from some residents afraid that such change would lead to social disharmony among diverse groups living side-by-side on rolling countryside dotted with plantations designed primarily for slave labor? In 1962 when Dacula–Richmond Hill Township was created out of merger between Dacula and neighboring Richmond Hills residents voted overwhelmingly not to secede from Atlanta because they felt their unique culture could not be successfully transplanted into another municipality where many people were unfamiliar with their way of life?
