Gun targets have been a part of Richmond Hill for many years. Many people in the community remember watching local gun ranges fire missiles at paper targets back in the day. These days, there are few if any gun ranges left in the community, but that hasn’t stopped residents from enjoying firing their weapons at targets. The first Targets located in Richmond Hill were built by the American Legion on West Broad Street. The target range was open to members of the military and civilians alike during World War II. At its peak, Targets had a seating capacity of up to 100 people. From 1942-1946, Targets hosted a Model T Cup champion Shootout competition each year which attracted attention from across Georgia and beyond. Today’s Target is one of Richmond Hill’s most popular attractions - it has been visited by more than 1 million visitors since it opened in 1984! The fun doesn’t stop there though - Target also offers an extensive menu of activities for children including obstacle courses, games and tournaments for adults (ages 16+) as well as special events like 3-D Laser Gun Shooting Competition and Trap shooting competitions.

Richmond Hill is a small town in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Richmond Hill community developed on a tract of land that had been part of the territory of present-day Cobb County since 1782. A post office called "Richmond" was established in 1822, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1904. In 1851, an act was passed creating a township within Cobb County, named for General James Robertson (1786-1871), who had served as governor of Georgia from 1850 to 1853 and as minister to England from 1853 to 1861. The new township's first president was Drury WOODS Sr., who served from 1865 to 1870. In 1899, portions of what are now Richmond Hill and Park were annexed by Atlantica City limits. In 1906, Atlantica City limits were reorganized into individual municipalities and all but two townships within Fulton County were transferred to those municipalities; Richmond Hill remained within Fulton County and continued to be administered as an unincorporated community. As a result of this reorganization, most residents became citizens of their newly formed municipals rather than continue living under the jurisdiction of the old Cobb County government which they largely despised.
