It was first used as a smithy by J.B.Doddridge and his brother-in-law, John Sibley, Sr. In 1829, Doddridge sold the armory to Ephraim Burrall and his son Ephraim Burrall Jr.. The Burralls continued to use it as a rifle range until 1924 when they closed it down due to lack of customers.
