Powder Springs, Georgia is a small city located in the United States state of Georgia. It was founded in 1868 by miners who came to the area from nearby Milledgeville. The Powder Springs holster company was founded in 1892 by J.H. Caldwell and H.W. Crouch. The company became a federally licensed firearms retailer in 1903, and produced holsters for the Confederate States of America (CSA) and other American militia organizations until 1934. In that year, the Caldwell-Crouch family sold the business to Eberhart & Sons, who continued to produce holsters under the Eberhart name until 1946. The first cartridge revolver holster made by the Powder Springs holster company was an 1894 model called the "Powder Spring Pistol Holster." This design featured a single-action revolver with a detachable magazine that could be carried in either hand. The Holster Company also produced a two-handed version of this holster in 1895 called the "Powder Spring Rifle Holster." This firearm featured a revolving cylinder that allowed both hands to carry its ammunition at once, making it ideal for use with rifles such as the Winchester Model 70 rifle. During World War I, many Americans bought handguns to supplement their military arsenals; these pistols were often based on designs developed by Holster Company employees themselves or purchased from other manufacturers. One example is the 1917 Springfield Armory pistol which used an original invention by Jens Weisinger – an early type of gasoperated weapon – which allowed shooters to fire multiple rounds simultaneously without having to reload each time. As more and more civilians began buying handguns for personal protection reasons, Holster Company employees began working on designs based on this new technology called “Belt Clip” guns; these guns featured clips that held all of their rounds inside of metal sheaths that could be worn around one's waistband or pocket). In 1934, Eberhart & Sons merged with Barnett Manufacturing Corporation, creating what would become known as Barnett Firearms Incorporated (BFI). BFI continued producing holsters under various banners until 1986 when it merged with Glock Incorporated (now owned by Beretta International) and ceased production altogether).

There were many mills located in town, including one called Wilkinson's Mill which produced high quality cloth until it closed in the early 1920s. In addition to its cloth industry, Powder Springs also became known for its tobacco manufacturing during this time. Today, powder smoke production is still a significant part of the town's economy and several buildings from this era remain standing.
