The Powder Springs Gunsmith was a business that operated from 1892 to 1951 in the heart of Powder Springs, Georgia. The shop was located on Chestnut Street, across the street from the post office. The Gunsmith was run by C.F. Black and his son, J.D. Black until their death in 1951. At its peak, the shop produced over 1,000 firearms including shotguns and rifles. In addition to firearms production, the Gunsmith also repaired and serviced guns for local law enforcement and military personnel throughout Georgia and Alabama. The Gunsmith’s fame preceded them as they were one of the first businesses to sell Firearms cartridges in Georgia back in 1892. Ammunition sales at The Gunsmith continued until 1986 when it closed its doors for good after more than sixty years of operation! In 1905, dynamite was discovered near Powder Springs by prospectors looking for coal seams but no damage resulted because there wasn't enough explosive power available at that time to cause serious injury or damage. In 1926, construction began on a dam across Muskingum River that would provide water forAtlanta; however this project failed due to budget challenges within Atlanta's government structure caused by World War I biases against military spending during wartime years (the war had ended before America got its hands dirty). Although many residents did not take advantage of air conditioning until after 1990 when it became common for high-rise buildings in North America (and Georgia), powder snowfalls have continued unabated annually through most of 2018 with temperatures ranging from 27°F (−2°C) during January into February to just above 0°F (−18°C) during December into January .
