For over seventy years, Powder Springs has been home to a thriving airgun community. In that time, the sport of airguns has seen many incarnations and modifications, all of which have helped make this small town an important player in the gun industry. The first known airgun club in Powder Springs was founded in 1892 by two friends, H. L. Beasley and J. N. Brownell. At that time, powder firearms were the only type of firearm available in Georgia and shotguns were not popular among airgunners due to their relatively slow speed. The club quickly grew and soon had members from all over the state. In 1903, a group of businessmen donated land at Greenville & Western for a new shooting range - one of the first such facilities in Georgia. This authorized club allowed shooters to use any type of firearm they could find without having toregister it with the local police station or waiting weeks for a rifle or shotgun order to arrive at their door! The range quickly became one of the most popular in town, hosting matches both day and night as well as tournaments featuring leading brands of firearms. After years of hard work by club members, the facility was remodeled in 1912 into what is now known as South Range #1 - one of Atlanta's most impressive indoor ranges today! Meanwhile, back at Red Roof Inn near downtown Powder Springs, some enterprising businessmen had also started selling pre-assembled airguns (known then as "grip guns"). These pistols were unassembled and required no assembly whatsoever; just cocking them until you achieved enough pressure (usually about three rounds) before firing! The idea behind these grip guns was not too dissimilar from what we know today: people wanted easy access to ammunition without having to deal with GAS or other potential contaminants present inside firearms magazines or boxes? All you had to do was cock these things until you got good results...kinda like how our modern self-loading rifles work! And sure enough, within a few short years these grip guns had become quite fashionable among airgunners across Georgia! By 1915 there existed several different companies manufacturing grip guns under various brand names including Colt Bolt Action Grip Guns Inc., Winchester Armory Grip Gun Company Inc., Savage Arms Grips & Ammunition Co., Smith & Wesson Rifle Grips Co., etc...). Needless to say, this early market penetration did wonders for sales numbers for these companies... advertising campaigns featuring grinning gunmen everywhere seemed quite successful indeed! In 1916 another company entered into the fray with their very own "Gripping Gear" line: Crosman Firearms Corporation created its own grips specifically designed for use with Airguns! Unfortunately things didn't go too well for Crosman; within just a few short years they went bankrupt seemingly due entirely to poor marketing choices made during product development (and possibly even design changes made aftermarket!). However throughout all this turmoil within Crosman Firearms Corp., their original team continue working diligently on developing new products that would help define future generations' pleasure withairguns !!!) It should be noted here that while Crosman Firearms Corp ultimately failed commercially (in part due to competition from more established players), their legacy continues on through countless innovation advancements still being made today by independent manufacturers utilizing identical technology :-)). Powder Springs is a small town located in the U.S. state of Georgia, about 20 miles south of Atlanta. The population was 5,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fulton County metropolitan area, and is the county seat of Fulton County. The first Europeans to set foot in what is now Powder Springs were fur traders from Quebec in 1692. They named it after a place in Scotland where they had been trading for trade goods with Indians since 1598. French explorers and traders traveled through this area in 1732 and 1735 looking for new sources of fur and other resources that could be used to support France's war effort against Great Britain. In 1739 Samuel Johns, captain of the British Loyalist ship Providence, discovered an area rich in coal minerals near present-day Powder Springs when he sailed down the Chattahoochee River on his way to meet General George Washington's forces at Valley Forge. This discovery led to important development within the community as early investors began exploiting these resources and helped build a prosperous town that today remains one of its most important cultural exports."

The town experienced some growth during World War II as many military personnel moved here from nearby Atlanta to serve in the war effort. In the 1940s and 1950s, Powder Springs became an important center for cotton production due to its location along the riverine plain where this type of crop could be grown well without irrigation help. Cotton production stopped around 1970 due to technological advances and other factors such as changing market conditions. Today, Powder Springs is mainly known for its antique shopping though there are also a number of businesses active in the city that employ many local residents as well as visitors who come through during special events or when visiting family members or friends.
Powder Springs was founded in 1784 by the merger of two small villages,Springfield and West Point. The town was named for General Nathanael Greene, who fought in the American Revolution. It grew rapidly during the antebellum period, becoming a regional center for cotton production and trade. In 1871, Powder Springs amalgamated with Jonesboro to form the city of Jonesboro.
