Pooler, Georgia is a small town located in the southern part of Fulton County. It has a population of 3,000 people and it is home to the Pooler Rifle Club. The rifle club was formed in 1907 and it still exists today. It is one of the oldest rifle clubs in the United States. The club has several hundred members and they shoot rifles on Saturday mornings from 9am to 11am. They also have a range that they use for target practice on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm. The first shooters in Pooler were men who belonged to the local militia unit. In 1912, poolers joined forces with other towns in Fulton County to form the Americus Rifle Association which remains active today. In 1922, Pooler became an incorporated city and it began using its ownrange for target shooting purposes. In 1933, poolers merged with another rifle club called Athens Gun Club which had been founded two years earlier by men from Athens, Georgia. From then until 1946, there were only women memberroves at Athens Gun Club though some male members did participate occasionally as well (e.g., when attending special meetings). In 1946, Athens Gun Club merged with another rifle club called Roswell gunclub which had been founded six years earlier by men from Roswell, GA. At this point there were no women memberships at either club so poolers decided to start their own range within hours of merging with these other clubs – the first such range was open on March 10th 1946! Today’s pooler Rifle Club traces its origins back over 100 years and enjoys membership from both men and women alike!

In 1825, following the construction of the railroad through Fulton County, many new settlers arrived - majority Irish Catholics who established themselves around Ponce de Leon Station on the then-new line northward into Georgia (the original route). They brought their own crops and animals but also constructed homes and started businesses around Ponce de Leon Station - one being an inn which served travelers throughout much of East Tennessee before it closed its doors in 1865 due to developers' competition; another being a store which sold groceries until1898 when it burned down; still another being a blacksmith shop which functioned intermittently until 1906 when it became poolersmithsvillecoachingcompanyincorporation; finally, a millinery shop operated by Mrs. Dolan from 1892 until 1902 when she took over operations from her mother-in-law after Mrs. Dolan's death that year).
