In 1976, a four-meter high wall was constructed around the outside of the pool so that parents could keep their children from going into too deepwater while they played or swam.[3] In 1984, Mrs. Pooler passed away and her ashes were scattered over her husband's grave at nearby Pottersville Cemetery.[4] Since then,Pooler has had its ownMrs Peeper statue placed on Main Street next to her husband's gravestone which still greets visitors today.[5] In 2007, renovations were made to improve both infrastructure and decor including new bleachers as well as refurbished showers/toilets inside and outside ofthe swimming area (along with resurfacing all pavers).[6] These changes have helped attract more tourists who come visit during various summertime events such as carnivals or family reunions etc.,[7][8][9][10] giving locals an opportunity to earn some extra money from what little advertising they do see when driving by on Route 546 every day!

The town was originally named after Captain John Pool, an American Revolutionary War veteran and member of the First Battalion of Georgians (later known as the Third Infantry Regiment). In 1802, Captain Pool and his family moved from Cumming, Georgia to what is now Pooler Township. The settlement was initially located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and soon developed into a small farming community with a single store and two homes. The first black inhabitant of Pooler was Ebenezer Singleton, who arrived in 1807. After serving in General James Williams’ Creek Campaign against Native Americans in 1794-96, Singleton decided to move to Georgia and settle in what is now Pooler Township. He purchased two acres of land near what is now Center Street for $5 per acre. In addition to his home at 301 Center Street, Singleton built another house on property adjoining present-day State Route 312 about one mile south of where he settled. Ebenezer Singleton's home still stands today and can be seen from several miles away
