Growth continued through World War II with peonage brought in for war production; however, after the war ended there was little growth until the arrival of Interstate 285 in 1973 which connected Dekalb County with Atlanta proper

Growth resumed during World War II when many peachcreekians enlisted in military service or moved into jobs available closer to home; however, following the war many residents again chose to leave for reasons such as poverty or lack of opportunity back in Atlanta (but also because they no longer felt safe living near white-owned businesses). Today’s population largely reflects those who reside within commuting distance: most are employees or retirees who visit while they are working elsewhere or while visiting family members; few own homes outright but much prefer suburban living arrangements with easy access bothto transportation and outdoor activities Peachcreek remains one of Atlantas fastest growing minority communities with over two hundred residents now identifying themselves as African American (though this number may be underestimates since not all residents report being citizens). However some recent efforts have been made towards revitalization including joining forces with nearby Druid Hills Park which has experienced significant success attracting high end retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus – turning Peachcreek into an attractive destination for professional professionals seeking quality neighborhoods close to downtown Atlanta
