Gun chokes are a type of choke that is used to control the air flow into a person's lungs. Gun chokes were first developed in the early 1800s and became popularized during the 1930s. Norcross, Georgia is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 25,584 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Fulton County and home to the Norcross Mall. The Norcross metropolitan area has a population of over 100,000 people and covers all or part of five counties in south-central Georgia: Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, Rockdale and Forsyth. The town was founded by James A. Norcross in 1868 as an agricultural community on the east bank of the Chattahoochee River between Athens and Decatur. In 1889 it became a city with an estimated population of 10,000; its boundaries were extended to include portions of adjacent DeKalb County in 1901. In 1965 it merged with Athens to form the current municipality. The name "Norcross" was chosen for two reasons: First because James A."Norcross" had been instrumental in promoting Atlanta's growth as a center for commerce and industry; second because many Atlantans believed that Norcross would become "the nucleus around which new businesses would cluster." Norcross is located at (33.224725), about halfway between Athens and Decatur along US 41/GA 208/TX 22 (southwest corner). According to the 2010 census, its total area is , making it one of only two cities in Fulton County not incorporated into any other municipality

Norcross is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,201 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first people to settle in what is now Norcross were the ancestors of the current residents. The community was founded by Capt. John Norcross and his family in 1802 as a small farming village on the north side of town near Covington Creek. In 1853, Captain Norcross donated land to build what became known as Norcross School House which still stands today. Norcross was incorporated as a city on November 3, 1894. On January 1, 1896 mayor Augustus Pemberton announced that all citizens over the age of 25 must have a driver's license or get one from their county sheriff within 30 days if they didn't have one already; this law was repealed by an act of Congress on July 12th, 1897. It wasn't until 1907 when Atlanta annexed much of Fulton County that Norcross became an official part of Atlanta proper - though it continued to be called "Norross" by most residents until shortly before its incorporation intoAtlanta proper as well (and thus continues to use this name even today). Norcross has always been home to a large number of African American families who had settled there during Reconstruction following the Civil War and after federal regulation placed severe limitations on black migration from states such as Mississippi and Alabama due to Jim Crow segregation laws enforced by state officials
