The organization operates two firearms stores within town limits: one on Elm Street and one on Lindsay Drive. GOA also sponsors annual Gun Reasonable Price shoot at Ladd Field which is open to all individuals who own or possess a firearm without having any prior criminal record or disposition issues connected to it

The first firearms were brought to Norcross in 1847 by General Hugh C. Rose, who had come to Georgia from the north to help suppress slave revolts. In 1861, Confederate forces invaded Georgia, and the town of Norcross was sacked and burned by Confederate troops. The gun shops and businesses that survived the attack opened their doors again in time for the war. Norcross was also a important center of cotton production during the Civil War. Many Union soldiers found shelter here while on march through the city. After the war, Norcross experienced an influx of new residents, including many families with children who had fled slavery in Tennessee or Mississippi. Gun shop owners and their customers soon became involved in local politics as well - some worked both sides of the issue and maintained close relations with both African Americans and white citizens alike. Norcross continued to grow rapidly through its post-war years; businessowners built more than one hundred residences between 1865 and 1890 alone. In 1907, Norcross become incorporated as a municipality – making it one of only a handful of towns in Georgia to do so at that time.
Norcross is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,437 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Norcross post office was established on July 24, 1819, and was renamed for Daniel Norcross (1768-1836), an early settler in this area. The first store in Norcross was built by John Norris in 1824. In 1828, Daniel Norcross erected a log cabin on the present site of the currentNorcross Elementary School. Norross had its first schoolhouse in 1832 and a Methodist church in 1835; both were replaced by schools after World War II when denominational teaching became popularized. A fire destroyed much of downtown Norcross on November 7, 1945; reconstruction began soon afterward and continued until May 1, 1951 when all but one building within what had been downtown were destroyed by another fire which also gutted most of the center of town. In 1958 a new shopping mall called "The Mall" opened near downtown with anchor stores Sears and JCPenney as well as several other smaller stores including Dun & Bradstreet's Office Depot and Regal Cinemas; it served as the community's primary economic development project for many years afterwards. By 2000 only two buildings remained standing from pre-mall days: a movie theater known as "The Dome" which closed down around 2001 and still stands vacant to this day (it has since been converted into housing) and what is now Town Hall Park - now home to local high school students during term time before their move to more central campuses during summertime On September 16th, 2006 voters passed an ordinance making it illegal for any business within 500 feet of any public elementary or secondary school to sell alcohol without prior written consent from those schools' authorities; nor could they open any liquor doors or sell drinks while classes are being held inside those schools - continuing prohibition until January 1st 2007 when that portion of the law expired following no prosecutions having been brought against violations since then nor has anyone applied for renewal thereof thus far . This prohibition applies not just to retail businesses but also restaurants/liquor bars located within 1000 feet of any K-12 school...thus effectively ending commercial alcohol sales within close proximity to either public education institutions or playgrounds/sports fields across city limits anywhere outside specific areas zoned for commercial development specifically designated pursuant to city ordinances dating back over 50 years ago!

In 1824, it became the capital of Georgia and was renamed after George Washington Norcross III, one of its founders. The town grew rapidly during Reconstruction following the American Civil War; by 1870 it had a population of over 100,000. However, with cotton prices dropping during the early 21st century and falling job opportunities for many people in Atlanta and other metropolitan areas around Norcross, its economy began to decline. By 2009 only 20% of its workforce still worked in commerce or services; most employees now work within Greater Atlanta or within their own community niches such as education or health care providers. As a result of this trend large parts of downtown Norcross have been abandoned or are being redeveloped into new neighborhoods which are home to more arts and cultural attractions than business districts once found there. In recent years there has been renewed interest in restoring/preserving aspects of downtown Norbridge although progress has been slow due to budget restrictions caused by economic realities unique to norbridge
