In Monroe, Georgia, small arms history can be traced back to 1892 when an American rifle company called the Monroe Rifle Company was founded by local farmers. The company manufactured rifles and shotguns using airgun barrels and stocks made from sporting goods stores’ stock. By 1910, the Monroe Rifle Company had become part of Winchester Repeating Arms Company and continued to produce firearms under that name until 1918. During World War I, Monroe rifle companies produced guns for both the military and police forces. After the war, many of these companies merged or disbanded, but one continuous production line remained at Winchester Repeating Arms Company until 1925. In 1939, a new company called National Firearms was formed in order to produce airguns under license from Winchester Repeating Arms Company. This company lasted until 1945 when it also merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company. In 1949-1950, another new company called G&G Manufacturing Corporation was started in order to produce airguns under license from Remington Repeating Arms Co., Incorporated (RRA). The G&G Manufacturing Corporation lasted until 1976 when it too merged with RRA. The last existing manufacturer of firearms using airguns in Monroe was PGM Ammunition Manufacturing Corporation which ceased operations in 1984 after manufacturing approximately 4500 handguns and rifles during its 25 year existence. Today’s airguns are far more advanced than they were a few decades ago; however, they are still considered dangerous weapons by many people who do not understand their properties or how they functioned prior to this current era of technology development. Monroe, Georgia is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 27,537 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. Monroe is included in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The history of Monroe can be traced back to 1785 when General James Monroe founded a trading post on the Chattahoochee River east of present-day Monroe City. In 1806, following his victory at New Orleans during the War for Independence, Monroe moved his family from Virginia to what is now Monroe City and named it after himself. The first courthouse in what is now Fulton County was built in 1811 near present-day Centerville Road and Interstate 285. In 1836, President Andrew Jackson issued an executive order calling for a congressional investigation into Indian removal policies pursued by his predecessor John Quincy Adams. This order led to the creation of the Cherokee Nation and resulted in many relocated Cherokees moving to what is now eastern Fulton County including many establishing businesses such as Mr. & Mrs.'s grocery store and Post Office Depot which still stands today on current day US 290 near Canton Park Lake (formerly Canton Gap). In this same year also western Cobb County was formed from parts of Fulton and Gwinnett Counties with much of its present day territory coming from eastern Cobb County through annexations by other counties over time including most notably DeKalb County which currently includes most of GwinnettCounty except for a small portion around Marietta; this annexation has been protested by residents who feel that their Community should have been given back to them specifically as part of their local government since coterminous with their county boundaries they would have had responsibility for all public services within their Community rather than just those provided within GwinnettCounty itself On October 15th 1861 while Union forces were fighting Confederate troops at Fort Sumter in South Carolina General Ulysses S Grant ordered Major General Lew Wallace to move forward with an army numbering over 100% American male citizens under command towards Savannah intending eventually to march through northern Georgia into central Alabama where he believed Confederate Secretary Of State Alexander Stephens located significant supplies caches intended for Generals Robert Easley and Thomas Johnson being stored before finally reaching Augusta where he discovered these plans Wallace halted his march after reaching Wilkinson’s Mills on October 30th 1861 upon learning that Confederate cavalry units were nearby attempting unsuccessfully not onlyto stop him but also East Tennessee Governor Henry Bragg who had sent reinforcements supporting Johnston
