Milton, Georgia is a small town located in northcentral Fulton County,Georgia. The population was 8,451 at the 2010 census. Milton has been a small community for over 100 years and its history can be traced back to 1881 when it was founded as an agricultural settlement by men from Topeka, Kansas. In 1909, Milton became an incorporated municipality and in 1941 began annexing nearby towns of Athens, Rome and Coweta. In 1957, Milton annexed the tiny town of Paulding. In 1969, Milton became one of five cities in Fulton County that were merged into the city of Atlanta.
