In 1836 Macdonald married an American woman and set out to evangelize in what is now Georgia and Alabama. After several years' travel he arrived at Villa Rica on March 8th 1830 speaking to about 200 converts who gathered around him for dinner that night according to one source However another source claims that "Andrew Jackson's party did not reach Villa Rica until 3 pm on the 9th" This event led to missionaries establishing three more settlements - Allatoona (now Alpharetta), Milledgeville (later Decatur) and Gainesville - within two years of Villa Rica including Milton where they erected the first church on November 12th 1836 followed by others soon thereafter The first permanent settler at Milton was James Hickey who arrived October 1st 1840 with his family from Kentucky Others early settlers included John Kerridge (born 1792), Daniel McKnight (1796-1867), David Forbes (census date unknown), William Fenton (1800-1871) and Robert Barclay(baptized c 1798). Reverend Rev John Parkin officiated services at First Baptist Church when it was built following plans provided by Ebenezer Cooke . It was not long before other denominations also started up such as Methodist Episcopal Church which organized December 8th 1850; Presbyterian Society which organized January 2nd 1852; Congregational Society which organized February 6th 1850; Episcopal Church which organized May 3rd 1845 . Dr Jameson Lewis became pastor midstream due to difficulties experienced with preaching from mountain sources but died suddenly before completing this task Later Pastor Aiken Waddell took over responsibility however Waddell retired due to ill health on September 15th 1909 leaving behind an unfinished building still standing today complete with vestibule though without roof no interior space

Milton is located in southeast Georgia and is part of the Athens metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1811 by farmers who migrated from Holland. The name is derived from the Dutch word for "milton" (a meadow). Milton has a population of over 20,000 residents and is home to many cultural attractions, including the nearby Milton Museum of Art and the Milton-Fayette County Library. The town also includes two small villages: Dentonville and Woodstock. The early settlers in Milton were farmers who had come from Holland. In 1811, they organized a community and named it after their homeland. After some time, they realized that they needed a more specific name so they changed it to Milton. They used this new name until 1830, when they again changed it to Athens because of its location within the then-town limits of Athens. In 1830, Athens became an incorporated city with a population of around 2500 people. However, due to financial difficulties caused by hard times during the Panic of 1837, Athenians voted not to incorporation again but instead create their own village called Dentonville which still exists today as a separate community with its own police department and fire department. In 1865, when Atlanta became an independent country under Reconstruction following the American Civil War, many African Americans fled northward into what would become known as “the black Belt” – areas outside of white society that were often subject to discrimination or poverty because of their race. This migration forced thousands of whites living in Atlanta to flee too – most notably those who lived in Milton and Dentonville – leaving behind these largely African American townships with few means or support systems available to them once they left town. 2 years later on November 3rd 1870 General James Hogg’s Union Army invaded Georgia at Chattahoochee River Bridge near Augusta he ordered all citizens 21 years or older must leave their homes without payment if unable bring goods or animals back with them his orders quickly sparked outrage among many Georgians as this seemed like yet another example government confiscating personal property without due process being given. Many people helped carry food throughout the region but there was little hope that anyone could escape alive without horses or livestock which would have meant weeks+ unpaid journey through hostile territory 3 thousand men women & children lost everything including homes jobs & businesses scattering across hundreds miles wide countryside
