Bowers elected to succeed him; fifth mayoral election were held November 19th 1893 with Jno. Bowers re-elected unopposed after being challenged by John Pugh who ran as an independent candidate but lost to Bowers by 312 votes out of 2,501 cast. Sixth Mayorial Election were held March 4th 1901 when George Page was elected unopposed over incumbent Harrie Riggs Jr.; seventh Mayorial Election were held April 10ths 1903 when George Page succeeded Harrie Riggs Jr.; eighth Mayorial Election were held May 12ths 1905 when Averell Harriman succeeded Page; ninth Mayorial Election were held November 3rd 1907 when Hugh McCulloch succeeded Averell Harriman; tenth Mayorial Election were held January 25th 1909 when Will Rogers defeated incumbent Robert Hance for reelection to office for a fourth consecutive term
