In 1805 Captain Byers sold him all right-of-way for $1,000 to Andrew Jackson, who founded Atlanta and named it after himself – thus becoming one of America's first independent cities. In 1813 Governor Thomas Poole recommended that Fulton be divided into seven townships for political reasons; but only three were adopted: Centerville (now called Mc DONOUGH), East Molineux (now known as West Molineux) and Webberville (now known as Muscogee). This left Mc DONOUGH as the lone township without a vote until November 3rd when voters in Webberville approved splitting off from Muscogee Township to form their own municipality under Mr. Jno Wofford's presidency with 1,500 residents effective January 1st1814 On July 15th 1840 Isaac Brock recorded an plat for what would become what is now downtown McFadden which included parts of what are now Waterford Heights and parts of what are now Midtown McFadden streetscape developed between 1870-1920s according to McFadden Historic District website
