The popularity of this typeof sight led to other companies copying Bullock's design soon after his death in 1870. By 1875, most all American Rifle Companies had adopted bulldog sighting devices! These later models became known as "bulldog style" scopes because they resembled the iconic black & white illustrations featured on many old rifles from that era! Circles Sighting Devices One common typeof circle sighting device is found on shotguns which allow users To adjust their aim using counterclockwise rotation instead of clockwise movement like with bulldogs! This feature is usually referred to as a "circled eye" scope mount because it looks similar to those used on cars! It remained popular until about 1920 when Nikon introduced their own rotating anti-reflection optics technology which eliminated circles altogether! Thereafter, most shotgunners continued using circles until they eventually replaced them with modern day digital readouts sometime in the 2000s! Mcdonough is a small town in central Georgia, located on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The population was 7,500 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Athens metropolitan area. The town was founded by white settlers in 1819 and named for General Robert E. McDonough, a Confederate general who fought against the Union during the American Civil War. The post office opened in 1824. In 1868, an Act of Congress granted Mcdonough city status and incorporation as a municipal corporation with a mayor and five council members. The economy of Mcdonough is largely based on agriculture; most residents are employed in farming or ranching operations. There are also several small businesses in the town, including two primary grocery stores and one hardware store/restaurant. The local school system provides education through gradeschool to high school levels; there is also an Adult Education Center which offers classes for adults interested in pursuing their own careers outside of agriculture or service work. The community has had some success preventing alcoholism and drug addiction from taking hold over the years; however, recent efforts have been made to improve economic opportunities for residents and to develop more active social lives within the community by encouraging personal responsibility among its citizens and building new cultural attractions such as a arts center, golf course, tennis courts, water park, playgrounds, etc., all of which have helped boost local sales activity and generate additional revenue for the town coffers

Mcdonough is a town in Oconee County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Macon– Warner County metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Mcdonough was George Washington Smith on December 1, 1814. He and his family had come from Athens, Alabama with his father and uncle to purchase land near what is now McDonough Lake. In 1816 Smith married Gwendolyn Towles and started a small farm west of town on what is now US 731. They had six children: three daughters and three sons who all went into farming or ranching; one son became an engineer and built several large homes in nearby Decatur; one daughter became a teacher in Macon; one daughter (Gwendolyn) married Stonewall Jackson Jr., brother of Confederate General Robert E. Lee, Sr.; they lived at "Lone Pine" until her death in 1865; their only child remained living there until he died in 1976.) In 1830 James McMillin moved to present-day Mcdonough from his home near Buttsboro with his wife Pollyanna and two children after arriving on horseback from Kentucky via Cumberland Gap National Battlefield Preserve where he had been seeking refuge from the lawlessness of that state during the 1830s western migration trail period known as The Trail of Tears. James McMillin's parents also came overland through Georgia before reaching Williamson County just east of Chattanooga that year around November 17th/1829 aboard the vessel "Doris". Their wagon train stopped at various places along the way including Fayetteville (now within Chattanooga), Dunwoody (later part of Atlanta), Milledgeville (now Peachtree City), Smyrna (later Marietta), Lawrenceville (now Roswell), Newtonia (now Homerston) before finally reaching Nacogdoches February 12th 1830 following a journey which took about two weeks across portions of current-day Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana.) The first school located in what is now Mcdonough was taught by Mrs. Sarah Ladd who opened it on October 10, 1827 using materials brought over by Methodist missionaries when she arrived with her husband Elijah Ladd from Illinois along with twelve other passengers aboard ship "Saratoga" which sailed downriver to Mobile Bay on April 20th 1827 bound for New Orleans.. Eleven more students boarded boat #2 upon arrival ashore but soon left because they were not allowed to carry any firearms inland so they formed militias called rifle clubs instead.- Mrs. Sarah Ladd taught school until December 16th 1828 when she resigned due to illness leaving her pupils instruction conducted by Dr John Craines who led class until March 3rd 1830 when classes resumed under Mr Gurdon Hinton who later became headmaster/ principal/ superintendant./ On January 1st 1830 David McGregor arrived as teacher substitute teaching at Holcomb Academy which later merged into GTM High School). From this time forward McGrimmon’s Creek Academy would be known as “McDonough Grammar School”./ For many years this school continuedOperating successfully even during World War II when much damage was done to building due Hurricane Betsy.–today Gibbstown Charter Schools operates this building providing public education for grades K-12
In 1856, the area that is now Mcdonough was part of a small parish in what is now Cobb County. The parish was named after George WashingtonMcDonough, and its boundary ran along the north bank of the Chattahoochee River. In 1857, the parish transferred to Talbot County, Alabama. In 1868, Mcdonough became a town in Cobb County. It had a population of about 100 people and was incorporated as such on November 3, 1870. The first mayor was Wm. Hockaday. At the time of its incorporation, Mcdonough had a public school and one store. In 1915, most of Cobb County were annexed by Georgia; Mcdonough remained an independent municipality until it merged with Clayton in 1924.
