Loganville is a small town located in the middle of Georgia, just north of Atlanta. The population was 5,643 at the 2000 census and 6,035 as of the 2010 census. It lies on the border of Fulton County and Clayton County. Loganville was founded in 1824 by General Logan, who named it for his home state of Illinois. The first store in Loganville was built by John Fenton in 1827. In 1840, there were only 15 residents living in Loganville; it had a population of 2 people per square mile. By 1850, however, Loganville had grown to over 100 residents and had a post office with mail service from Fulton County. In 1860, General Nathan Bedford Forrest established himself as a white supremacist leader in nearby Decatur County and began to attack black farmers and other civilians. He formed an alliance with local white supremacists and killed many African Americans in what came to be known as the Great Negro Revolt. In 1865, he surrendered at Appomattox Court House after a three-month battle with Union forces led by Ulysses S Grant. After the Civil War ended, many freed slaves moved into Loganville from states such as Georgia and Alabama. They gradually replaced earlier white settlers while continuing to populated the town's core until 1948 when all black residents were forced out due to Jim Crow segregation laws in Georgia which still exist today across most aspects of life here including education opportunities for blacks Residents have since returned but are limited largely because of Act 382 (2007) which denies them residency or voting rights based on their race

Loganville is a small town in Dekalb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta-Fulton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Loganville is located on the border of Fulton and DeKalb counties. Loganville was founded in 1825 by John Logan and his family as a log town on the Chattahoochee River about northeast of what is now Decatur. In 1828, James Worthy built a dam across the Chattahoochee to power an early cotton gin (now known as Soo Line Railroad Station). The town grew rapidly after becoming home to a sawmill and gristmill, two stores, two churches (the first black church in Georgia), three schools (one for white children and one for colored children), and four agricultural plantations that produced crops such as corn, soybeans, cotton, potatoes, etc. In 1868–69 John Bostwick developed land near present day Loganville and founded Bostwick County with about fifty families. The heyday of Loganvillians began around 1890 when several large railroads arrived in search of new customers in the area: the Savannah & Western Railway from Georgia; Atlantic & Pacific Railroad from California; Southern Railway from Illinois; Memphis & Chattanooga Railway from Tennessee; Pensacola & Gulf Coast Railway from Florida . By 1904 there were ten hotels/motels in town with over 4500 residents including 6000 farmhands working on eighty-five farmssteads producing cereal crops such as cornmeal, rice flour, oats., wheat germ., potatoes., peas., beans., sunflower seed oil,, etc.; entertainment included seventy-six saloons with seating for 30000 spectators nightly at various events like carnivals,, circuses,, football games,, fairs;; construction included many businesses such as meatpacking plants (Bostwick County had been Packing Company since 1798) making it one of America’s largest beef packing areas until prohibition ended production in 1933 ; industries also growing include automobiles manufacturing followed by paper products then shipbuilding before becoming defunct during World War II but revived during postwar years due to military production relocation programs which continued into today
Loganville was founded in 1802 by General James Logan and his family. The town became a center of cotton agriculture, and the first cotton gin was built in 1811. The Loganville Female Academy was established in 1868, and the first college in Georgia, Chattahoochee Technical Institute, was opened in 1904. In 1960, Loganville became the seat of government for Fulton County.
