Loganville, Georgia is a small town located in the state of Georgia. The population was 3,868 at the 2010 census. Loganville is known for its apple orchards and its history as a center for slave trade. The town was founded by John Logan in 1821 and named after his father, James Logan. It grew rapidly during the 1800s due to the growth of cotton plantations in central Georgia and its location on the Appalachian Mountains. By 1830, Loganville had a population of over 10,000 people. In 1846, following the outbreak of the American Civil War, many slaves were freed in what is now Birmingham County, Alabama and moved to central Georgia. This migration increased cotton production in central Georgia and helped contribute to Loganvilts rapid growth during the 1800s. However, during the late 1800s slavery began to decline inGeorgia as more states legalized it. In 1861 southern states seceded fromthe United States and joined Confederate America; however, Loganville remained an independent municipality until 1865 when it merged with nearby Chattanooga into Tennessee’s Knox County.[1] At first glance Loganville may seem like a sleepy little town located near nothing much but apples trees: right? Well actually there’s so much more to this story than that! Here we will take a look at some important aspects about local history which make this small community unique: First off let’s discuss John Logans arrival here – he set up shop here back in 1821! This makes him one of only two men everto have laid down roots here (the other being General Nathan Bedford Forrest). John was from Northern Ireland and came overland through Kentucky looking for land that could be used for agriculture rather than being taken away by Cherokee warriors who raiding new areas near where he resided!. He ended up settling down around what is now downtown LoganvilT (now part of University Park) where he started building houses (one still stands today!). It wasn’t long before others followed suit – within just five years alligators had populated most of downtown! What do you know? Downtown was originally built on swampy ground which eventually dried up thanks to development![2] Today you can see evidence that early settlers did try their hand at farming as well – there are several patches of cornfield present today! And while it would be inaccurate to say that everything happened “simply because Logans Set Up Shophere” (!),it does help addcontextual significance to his role within townhood[3]. From this humble beginning things quickly got going for John Logans & his family – they operated an inn/ Tavern here until 1840 when they started buying out other landowners rights to market their produce!! At this point quite a few people must have been living & workinginLoganvilT due not only Toits importance BUT ALSO ITS LOCATION NEAR THE WILDERNESS OF APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS…WHICH PROVIDED A LOT OF CLIMATE BREAKERS FOR COTTON POVERTY IN CENTRAL GEORGIA!! After 1840 things slowed down considerably but didn’t change hands again til 1870 when another man (Harry Smith) bought out Logansrights!!! Smith ran Glynn County until 1880 when he sold it all back TO LOGANVILLE!!!
