Loganville is a small town in Lumpkin County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2000 census. It was founded in 1821 by John Logan and his wife Martha Lane. Loganville grew rapidly during the antebellum period as cotton plantations were established here. In 1851, the town had 2,000 residents and it became a city in 1870. It lost its status as a city after annexation by Atlanta in 1895. Loganville has remained an agricultural community ever since with some industrial development also taking place over time including a foundry and two textile mills.
