Lawrenceville is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 20,898 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Lawrenceville School District and home to the Lawrenceville High School Bulldogs football team. The area that now includes Lawrenceville was settled by European Americans in the early 1800s. In 1819, General Andrew Jackson raided Lawrenceville and burned all of its homes and crops, but this did not deter settlement. In 1824, Colonel John Chilton bought 1/2 acre (0.18 km²) of land north of present-day downtown Lawrenceville from James Brougham for $100 per acre (0.48 kg/ha). In 1830, Rev George Washington Harris donated 3 acres (1 km²) south of town near what is now Chick-fil-A Way to build a church. Reverend Harris named his new church "The Mount Zion Baptist Church". The first store in town was built on Center Street in 1835 by Ebenezer Cook Sr.. On October 9th,1836 an act was passed by the Georgia General Assembly which granted land to trustees for the erection of a courthouse and jail within two years. This act also provided that "No person holding any property within this limits shall be compelled to vote or subscribe to any political measures." This law marked the beginning of law enforcement in Lawrenceville as well as legal regulation of gun ownership within town limits

The town's name derives from nearby Mount Zion Cemetery, which was donated to the town by General Wilkinson's widow. The first post office was established in 1824; it continued under that name until it merged with those of neighboring towns in 1865. In 1907, Lawrenceville named its high school for John Fenton, Jr., who had been mayor of Atlanta two years earlier and who had helped to build Atlanta's streetcar system and improve public transportation within the city limits. In 1916, Lawrenceville became one of several communities across America to become home to Tuskegee Airmen during World War I; afterwards, the military service facility remained a prominent presence in the town through various incarnations until it closed its doors in 2008. After many years without an economic development initiative or investment from local leaders or businesses – despite periodic claims by boosters – downtown Lawrenceville experienced significant revitalization beginning around 2014 as developers Cameco Mines leased land adjacent to US Highway 420 (the same route that served as urbanRailroad corridor) and began construction on what would later be known as "The Mall." There have also been many commercial ventures launched within Downtown Lawrenceville since then such as Pinnacle Bank & Trust (now part of JBL Capital), First National Bank & Trust (later part of Wells Fargo), Masterpiece Diner (owned by Chiquita Brands Inc.), Lululemon Athletica store founder Chipotle Mexican Grill LLC., Subway sandwich shop founder Jared Leto (),and more recently Home Depot (). Gun locks are a type of lock that are often used to secure firearms. Gun locks typically consist of a keyed handle and an arm that is inserted into the gun's breech. Once the arm is inserted, the keyed handle becomes locked in place by engagement with one or more tabs on the outside of the lock. The lock can then be opened by hitting one or more buttons on the inside of thelock. The first recorded use of a gun lock was from 1588, when Portugueseman Bartolomeu Dias created a type of firearm lock called a "cordão de cautela." The cordão de cautela consisted of two pieces: one had four small posts that were threaded through; while another piece had three small posts that were threaded through. These two pieces were then glued together at their intersection, forming what would later be known as a "cordão." The cordão de cautela was originally designed to prevent unauthorized access to cannons during wartime. It also proved useful for securing firearms in storage. In 1795, French inventor Baron Nicholas-Jacques Conte came up with an improved version of the cordão de cautela known as la cloche qui ponctionnait les chambranles des armes (the cocked key). La cloche became popular due to its convenience and it allowed for easier disarmament than other types of guns locks. In 1879, American inventor John Cockerill patented his own version of gunlocks known as safe guns . Safe guns featured an adjustable trigger guard that made them more difficult to shoot if determined to do so without help from someone else. These new safeties also became popular among law enforcement and security professionals because they made it harder for criminals to steal firearms without detection
