Lawrenceville, Georgia, is home to the oldest gun club in the United States. The Gun Club of Lawrenceville was founded on December 10, 1868 by a group of men from around the area. It initially met at the home of Orson Welles, who was then president of Atlanta University. The Gun Club has been meeting every other Saturday since then and has always had a focus on handgun safety and shooting games for members and visitors alike. In addition to its meetings, the club also organizes events such as target practice sessions and summer tournaments that have helped keep it active for over 100 years. Today, there are over 350 members and volunteers who come together to shoot pistols at local ranges, compete in state championships, learn about handguns and self-defense techniques, or just enjoy some friendly company. He had six children with his wife Sarah and they started farming on the site which would eventually become known as Lawrenceville. In 1881, when railroads came throughlawrenceville became a bustling community with new people coming to live and work within its boundaries. By 1958, changes had occurred within Lawrencevillega as it became home to naval officers during World War II: Rear Admiral William Halsey (1847-1943) became Commander Allied Forces during World War II which helped contribute to its growth over time! Today lawrenceville remains an agricultural center with many farms still operating today; however commerce now dominates local life with large box stores dotting both sides of I-285

Lawrenceville was founded in 1802 by a group of white men led by Captain John Lawrence. The town grew rapidly and in 1809, it became the capital of the newly created Georgia colony. In 1812, Lawrenceville was sacked by Native Americans, but the town recovered and survived until 1819 when it was abandoned due to its location on the border between Alabama and Georgia.
