During this time period, Lawrenceville also saw someof its most important moments including becoming a state capital (1887), hosting a national exposition (1913), and experiencing rapid growth when it came to both housing options (late 19th century) as well as businesses (20th century). But even during these more recent times there have been sporadic instances of community unrest which has led to occasional violence or vandalism - incidents that are still consideredto be locales where crime is not generally rampant but rather occurs sporadically out of an abundance of cautionary tales about potential threats posed by outside forces such as gangs or terrorists
