Kingsland, Georgia is a small town located in the northeast corner of Fulton County, Georgia. It was founded in 1892 by Colonel John Kingsbury and his family. The town has grown steadily over the years, becoming an important center for industry and commerce. Today, Kingsland is home to a number of businesses and institutions, including the Kingsbury Manufacturing Company, which produces firearms and other weaponry. In addition to its manufacturing activities, Kingsland also receives significant tourist traffic due to its historical attractions. The name of the town comes from King George I of Great Britain who visited Atlanta in 1785 and named it after his new home country. The city sprang up around a railway station on the tracks between Atlanta and Marietta. In 1892 local landowners pooled their money to build Kingsland High School which remains one of the largest schools in Fulton County today. Kingsland's growth continued with its incorporation as a city in 1908. It experienced rapid development during World War II with factories and housing erected along Route 1A (later Interstate 85) just outside of the boundaries of Kingsland. After the war, many Kingslanders moved into suburbs east of Atlanta, abandoning their downtown core for good. However, some businesses kept open in downtown Kingsland until late-2000s when most businesses closed or converted to apartments or other uses outside of Downtown Kingsland's boundaries due to changing demographics and trends in Atlanta

In 1821, Georgia became a U.S. state and Kingsland became part of the new state. The community continued to grow until World War II when it lost most of its residents to deployment overseas. Today, Kingsland is a small town with a population of around 100 people and is home to a high school and post office as well as a few businesses.
