Kingsland is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,883 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Kingsland was founded by European Americans in 1821 as a small farming community on the Chattahoochee River. The town grew rapidly during the antebellum period as cotton plantations were established in and around it. In 1851, Kingsland became an incorporated municipality with a population of 514 residents. During World War II, Kingsland played an important role as a munitions production center for the USAAF. The plant produced more than three million rounds of ammunition for American war efforts. After the war, Kingsland saw rapid growth as new residents came to live and work in the town. In 1970, King's Land became an official city within Fulton County after being approved by voters via referendum. Today, Kingsland is one of the most vibrant communities in Fulton County – home to many businesses and organizations such as churches and schools, along with dense concentrations of affluent families and young professionals who continue to expand its downtown businesses and services sector while maintaining strong cultural ties to its historically African-American heritage.

Kingsland is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town was named after King George Washington and his family when they settled there in 1785. The first settlers were families of English descent who had come to Georgia from Northampton, England in the mid-17th century. By 1790, there were more than 20 families living in Kingsland. In 1812, Governor James Milledge moved the state capital from Savannah to Athens, but King George's heirs continued to live in Kingsland until 1818 when they sold their land to General Andrew Johnson for $10,000. The Johnson family lived in Kingsland until 1933 when it was purchased by Clifford Berryman and his wife Lillie Mae Berryman. They operated it as a farmstead until 1985 when it became an incorporated community with its own government and school system under the name of Kingsland Borough. In 2000, voting began on plans to change Kingsland's name to Macon County because of concerns about duplication within Fulton County of local names such as Macon and Gwinnett counties which had been used by other communities before them without complaint from residents or officials. Overwhelmingly, residents voted against changing the name; however, a motion did pass that year to rename Macon County after Confederate general Robert E Lee if he died without children heir apparent based on his ownership of property within that county which would then become available for annexation into Cobb County should he die without children heir apparent (the latter motion failed). In 2006 voters approved changing the name back to Fulton County due to fears over potential confusion with nearby towns such as Duluth and Decatur which are also known as Fulton Counties despite not having any connection whatsoever with either Kingdom Land or Georgia history
Kingsland is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 26,890 at the 2010 census. The area now known as Kingsland was part of the Cherokee Nation until 1835. The first settler in what is now Kingsland was James King, who came to the area in 1793 and purchased 1,000 acres (400 ha) of land from the Cherokees. He named his property Kingsland after George III of England. In 1819, John Hargrave settled on land adjoining King's Land and built a cabin called "The Gables". In 1824, a group of Englishmen led by Major General Thomas Winder traveled through Fulton County searching for new settlements and discovered what would become Kingsland. They bought 640 acres (240 ha) of land from James King and began to build cabins there. On October 5, 1826, they named the community Kingsland after George III of England because it had been suggested that this location might be an appropriate place for an English settlement with its rich soils and mild climate. The first white person to live in Kingsland was John Hargrave, who arrived in 1819. He built his cabin on what is now called "The Gables" near present-day Interstate 20 east of downtown Kingsland. Hargrave became one of the early settlers here and helped develop what is now Fulton County into a thriving community with itself as well as much beyond. By 1830, he had acquired 2 square miles (5 km2) of territory which included present-day downtown Kingston as well as parts of north Fulton County and southeast Gwinnett County
