The rapid growth has caused problems with water resources; since 1960 there have been several attempts by local officials to build reservoirs on parcels within town limits so that Kingston could get more water from upstream reservoirs. However, each time these proposals have failed because of opposition from property owners or others who own land adjacent to the lakes or rivers that supply Kingston's water supply. As of the census[10] of 2010, there were 971 people residing in town: 559 households out OFFLINE (including 359 households without any form of Internet access), 294 families (or 56%of all dwellings), and 158 non-families residing inside town limits (or 91%of all dwellings).
