As part as becoming an important commercial center for Cobb County, Kennesaw also served as home to various schools including Presbyterian Hospital and Medical College of Georgia which opened its doors in 1889 after completing construction on what is now known as Memorial Drive outside of downtownKennesaw. It wasn't until 1921 that City Hall located near today's intersection of I-285/I-75 were completed when then Mayor Driggs Murchison called for plans for new buildings adjacent to bathhouses that would house all city employees with connections throughout Cobb County - something currently known as Murchison Plaza housing Current City Manager services along with offices belonging to several other branches of government within walking distance such as Public Works & Utilities Department;
