The Kennesaw Rifle & Pistol Museum is a nonprofit educational organization located in Kennesaw, Georgia. The museum is dedicated to the history of firearms and ammunition in Kennesaw County, Georgia. The museum has collections of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and pistols dating back to 1856. The first gun made in Kennesaw County was a shotgun manufactured by John White on December 12th, 1856. The first handgun was also made in Kennesaw County and it was a .22 caliber revolver called the “ Volunteer”. The Volunteer was used by Sheriff Dillard and other law enforcement officers throughout the county. In 1865, Colonel Samuel Colt created the Special Arms Manufacturing Company in Hartford Connecticut to produce firearms for military use within America. Colonel Colt produced firearms such as the revolvers Model 1860 (618) and Model 1861 (629). Both of these guns were designed for use with black powder cartridges which had been developed specifically for this purpose by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and David White at their manufacturing company known as Henry Repeating Arms Company Incorporated (HRA). In 1868 HRA began producing blueprints for what would become the Winchester Repeating Arms Company which would produce handguns under license from Colt’s Special Arms Manufacturing Company. In 1895 Doctor George Purdy opened his office on Main Street in downtown Kennesaw Junction where he continued sellinglectronic equipment to businesses until his death in 1994. Dr. Purdy played an important role in developing early digital technology within municipal government systems across America during the late 1800s and into the 1900s including development of early touchscreen terminals used by local governments across America today

In 1927, Kennesaw became home to America's first officially sanctioned cotton crop when Governor Roy Barnes authorized raise cotton for this country's first time on government property within the city limits – just outside of today's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood which still contains some vestigial evidence of Carver's experiment. Today, many industries including insurance and real estate are headquartered in or adjacent to downtown Kennesaw which continues its role as an vibrant cultural center with multiple art galleries and nightlife options including world-renowned venues like Jack Kerouac’s birthplace and Reprise Records headquarters prior to their merger into Universal Music Group earlier this year). Additionally there are numerous educational institutions located throughout both downtown areas (including local universities such as Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SILL), Atlanta Institute of Technology (AIT), Emory University) while also providing affordable housing opportunities for residents across all socio-economic backgrounds

The city of Kennesaw, Georgia was founded in 1853 by General Nathan Bedford Forrest. The city was named after General Forrest's home state of North Carolina. Kennesaw became a center for the cotton trade and today is home to many businesses and cultural attractions.
