Johns Creek is a small town in Chatham County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first store in Johns Creek was opened in 1875 by W.H. Hickey and his son-in-law J.D. McDonald on what is now Turtle Shoals Road. John's Ferry crossed the Chattahoochee River just east of the town center in 1881 and served as a transportation hub for local farmers and their goods to and from nearby Atlanta and Decatur (then known as Gadsden).
